Product Description

Product Description

For a year, while the Master ruled over Earth, Martha Jones travelled the world telling people stories about the Doctor - how he has saved them before, and how he will save them again. This is that story. It tells of Martha's travels - from her arrival on Earth as the Toclafane attacked and decimated the population through to her return to Britain to face the Master. But it's more than that. This is also a collection of the stories she tells - the stories of adventures she had with the Doctor that we haven't heard about before. The stories that inspired and saved the world!

4.0 out of 5 stars Reasonably good novel of Martha's mission during the year that never was, Oct 5 2009

This review is from: Doctor Who: The Story Of Martha (Hardcover)
Obviously this novel only makes sense after seeing the end of the third season of the new Doctor Who. This fills in the tale of Martha's year long wandering around the world telling people about the Doctor and his wonderful stories. In a year with genocide and technological change with the Master running the world and the Toclafane on the loose, Martha's mission is so wonderfully simple. Well written novel for the Dr. Who fan.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good story for the Martha Jones fans, Jan 18 2010
By D. Baptista - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Doctor Who: The Story Of Martha (Hardcover)
This was an interesting read. As another reviewer said, it doesn't make much sense unless you've finished watching the 2007 season of Doctor Who. It explains Martha's travels during the Year that Never Was. I found myself wishing there were more stories.

4.0 out of 5 stars Less than I'd hoped, Jun 2 2010
By CatBookMom - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Doctor Who: The Story Of Martha (Hardcover)
I was really looking forward to reading this, since I expected that Dan Abnett would do a great job of filling in stories of Martha's year of traveling the Earth. But I feel a bit disappointed: there is less substance to the story than it could have had. I understand that it is a collaboration of several authors, which accounts for the slightly different styles of the segments, but those authors could have been more imaginative in their ideas of what happened to Martha, rather than flashbacks to her adventures with the Doctor.
