I was given this CD along with That Darn Cat soundtrack ( a total F cd- not worth buying) . The songs on this are a reminder of my childhood. It is songs, by the original artist. For the most part the cd is pretty good with songs the 30+ crowd remembers.

As canine lovers, my kids love this CD. As the adult, I enjoy it to when it is being played. In fact, I like it as much as the kids do! My favorites: Siberry's "Everything reminds me of my dog", "Bird dog" and Nilsson's "Me and my Arrow." In my opinion, all of the songs are great for kids. It is not standard Disney fare, and it is not a soundtrack. Just good fun music that deviates from the standard kiddie stuff.

We had a dog-themed wedding rehearsal dinner and I bought this CD to add to the fun and casual atmosphere. It was a great addition. There was romance (Puppy Love) and silliness (My Dog is Bigger Than Yours) that helped the evening to be a perfect mixture of laughs and sweetness. I still enjoy hearing it come up on my Ipod when I'm shuffling through music. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is there's a limit to how often you want to be listening to this collection.

DOG SONGS-VARIOUS ARTISTS: Released to cash in on Disney's ever popular 101 DALMATIONS series of flicks, DOG SONGS contains a litter of cute 'n cuddly canine ditties, sure to please the proverbial kid in all of us. Covering musical bases from RNB (Rufus Thomas' trademark Stax classic WALKIN' THE DOG) to rock (Jerry Lee Lewis' rave-up take on HOUND DOG) to novelty (the Monkees' whacked out I'M GONNA BUY ME A DOG), there ain't a "you-know-what" in the bunch here. Folk composer Tom Paxton's MY DOG'S BIGGER THAN YOUR DOG, which is probably more familiar as a Ken-L Ration ad, Dr. John's ultra-funky reading of CRUELLA DeVIL, and 70s crooner Lobo's ME AND YOU AND A DOG NAMED BOO all add to the frisky fun. Proof positive that WHO LET THE DOGS OUT shouldn't be the only mutt music your favorite youngster knows.

I've owned this album for a long time, and never stopped enjoying it immensely. What a terrific collection of tunes for any dog lover...or anyone who appreciates a variety of fun songs! I absolutely love them all, but some of the highlights are "Me and You and a Dog Named Boo," "Happy Little Nobody's Waggy Tail Dog," "Everything Reminds Me of My Dog," and...oh, heck, I hardly know where to stop listing these great tracks, many of which come courtesy of very noteworthy musical artists. If you like the titles and samples, you surely won't be disappointed and may even come to love the collection as much as I do....rrrruff!!
