5.0 out of 5 stars So Talented at Such a Young Age June 7 2013
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
It's great to see her breakout into the music industry with this album. I recommend it to anyone that loves DEMI's other music. Some really catchy songs on here, that you'll enjoy for sure. The standouts are Get Back, Believe In Me, Until You're Mine, & The Middle and so many more!

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant Debut!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sept. 24 2008
By Sasha
Format:Audio CD
I was pleasantly surprised!!!

Its really more mature than what i had expected. I was so hoping that she wouldn't completely turn the album into a tween genre.

Its really good, I recommend it.

La la land, Party and Trainwreck are my favs...you JB fans will like on the line...but i really hope you'll give this album a fighting chance.

4.0 out of 5 stars Yay, Demi!!!! Aug. 20 2009
Format:Audio CD
Demi shows extreme talent, the only flaw is, some of the songs sound alike, but that doesn't stop it from being amazing... example:

La La Land- This catchy single shows more of a pop side than the others but it's very catchy and shows that Demi will not be changed by the media.

Get Back- Instead of lashing out on her ex, Lovato asks to get back with him, it's upbeat and very fun to listen to, one of the more rock songs.

Trainwreck-One of the best on this album, catchy, fun upbeat, stating that she loves her boyfriend because he is unique, or, a less mild term... a trainreck.

Party-My least favorite song from the album, but some might enjoy it. It's upbeat but missing some of the originality that she has in her other songs.

On The Line-One of my favorite songs on the album... whihc surprises me,considering I'm not a fan of the Jonas Brothers, I love the lyrics and it's upbeat... the Jonas Brothers voices hardly destroy it.

Don't Forget- Amazing! Demi sounds so fragile, and the song is so beautiful and sad, my favorite...

Gonna Get Caught- There's a tough girl in Demi, as you can hear on this track, it's more of a rock song than many of them, about the same level as Get Back, Not one of my favorites but pretty good.

Two Worlds- A beautiful ballad about friendship.

The Middle- Not one of my favorites, but good enough, a louder song, where she wants to enjoy the thrill of being with a certain boy.

Until You're Mine- Desperation fills her voice as she longs to be with somebody who is unreachable. About the same level as The Middle.

Believe In Me- A very relatable ballad, about wanting people to believe in you, feeling very self-conscious.

3.0 out of 5 stars Lovato's Debut Hip, Fresh and Stylish Jan. 10 2009
Format:Audio CD
Disney tends to drift in and out of fashion, going through slumps in the 1970s, and then once again in the early 2000's. While their 2-D animated feature-length film days may be over, Disney has found a new way to cash in on kids: through the creation of teen stars.

Lovato is one of the latest squeaky clean Disney tween pop star/actor/"songwriters" to hit the scene and as far as Disney stars go, she might be the best of the rest right now. Her voice sounds raw and real and her songs are some of the catchiest hooks on a record targeted at a junior high audience I've heard since say... Hanson?

Many of these songs are apparently co-written by another Disney cash cow, the teen matinee idol superstars of the 21st century, the Jonas Brothers, and this collection of shiny songs isn't too dissimilar from the Jonas' records. Fans of "classic" Avril Lavigne will also feel comfortable listening to this non-offensive bubblegum offering - it's sweet and doesn't try TOO hard to be something it's not, while still maintaining some chops in terms of big production, big names (the budding star does a singalong with the Jonases themselves --- screaming fan girls take note!) and yes, even a big voice. Lovato sounds continuously chipper, strong and upbeat and is, I think, a great rolemodel whose clean-cut style, good looks and multi-talent make her someone worth following. And she claims she'll "stay the same in the la la land machine". So here's hoping!

The downside of this record is its vanilla-bland delivery. It's doubtful that this record will stand the test of time. But neither will the tween age of Lovato's hardest core fans. While no classic and certainly not a mainstay, I highly recommend Lovato's debut. And knowing Disney, the sophomore isn't trailing too far behind.
