Product Description

Product Description

The BEP's return with an acoustic lead summer sounding sawyer that really has hit stamped all over it. UK radio will love it especially at independent radio level. It has a near Spanish / Latin feel due to its acoustic guitar feel. You can see millions of people driving around in their car steering wheel singing along to the chorus. But as far as the urban world is concerned this is just straight up pop, good pop, but pop nether the less. The Album version is backed with 'Shake Your Monkey' (Non-LP Main version), 'Don't Lie' (Beets & Produce NY mix) & the Album Version Closed Caption. A&M. 2005.

5.0 out of 5 stars No Lie, Monkey Business's Best Single April 8 2006

"Don't Lie", the second single, yet the least successful, is their best single off the album Monkey Business. It has a very decent beat that has nice violins at the beginning to a nice, Pop-R&B beat. The lyrics are encouraging not lieing. Fergie is pretty good at singing but the rest is better.

1.0 out of 5 stars Agonizing (1 Star) Sep 26 2005

How does a rap group do a complete 180-degree turn from being called "the next A Tribe Called Quest" to being a lousy pop-music outfit? Just ask The Black Eyed Peas. I was surprised by their more commercially-minded sound when Elephunk dropped, but I still gave it a chance. But this is just ridiculous; "Don't Lie" is the biggest load of sugar-coated trash to hit the airwaves this year.

Now, suppose you told someone in 2001 that the Black Eyed Peas were going to eventually sell out. There's no way they would believe you, considering BEP was the anti-thesis of mainstream music back then. But with the addition of Fergie to the group, the results have been good for the Peas' wallets, but not much else. First of all, her pseudo-reggae singing, as displayed in "Don't Lie" as well as "Don't Phunk With My Heart" is downright horrid. I cannot stand gimmicks, and a white woman trying to fool people into thinking that she has a reggae singing voice is a downright idiotic gimmick.

But hey, what about those other guys in the group? Well, to put it bluntly, their lyrics are complete tripe compared to the pre-Elephunk BEP (especially Will.I.Am). I gave the Peas the benefit of the doubt on Elephunk, but their new music is just absurd.

Complete sugar-coated pop garbage.
