About the Author
I was born at Cullman, Alabama in 1943. My father was stationed in California while in the Army and when I was about one year old, we moved to California to be with him. I wish I could remember the trip because to hear my mama talk about it, the trip was something to behold. When I was about five we returned to Alabama to settle in Centreville, a small lumber and pulpwood town located in the foothills of the Appalachians. My mother and father were farmers and elementary/secondary schoolteachers. Through them I learned the value of curiosity, education and the joy of reading a good book.
