The Last of Shadow World!, April 8 2011
By Apollo Reader - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Doom Helix (Mass Market Paperback)
Alan Philipson's last Deathlands is typical Philipson - classic, stronger sci-fi themes than the norm for this series. Alan will be missed penning this series. He was, without a doubt, one of the all-time best writer for this series. He knew the characters as if he invented them himself, and also was incredibly gifted at not only knowing how to write Deathlands -style action/adventure, but spiced it up more when the series needed it the most.
Doom Helix is the 3rd, and last installment of Alan's Shadow World trilogy.(One of our all-time best themes, BTW!)
The shattered post-holocaust earth may be the last bastion of freedom for the scientists and warriors of Shadow World when an alien virus gets loose, forcing them to gate to the Deathlands, there to once again encounter Ryan Cawdor and his companions for one more showdown - but one will a double helix twist!
Not only do the last environs of the shadow world new to enlist the help of the Deathlands warriors, but they bring with them the seed from Ryan's loins - his daughter! And you will not forget her.
Fantastic storyline. Solid characters. Alan Philipson was at the top pf his writing prowess in the last couple of years in this series. He will be sorely missed.
