3.0 out of 5 stars Tries too hard to be clever, Dec 25 2003
By
Island Bookworm (Beautiful British Columbia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Down & Dirty Birding (Paperback)
This book purports to be a guide to birding for the uninitiated but mostly it just attempts to sqeeze as many mediocre vulgar jokes out of the subject as possible. The actual information is at a beginner level, and you often have to read between the lines to figure out what genuine information is he is trying to make a joke out of. The humour is at about the level of a 14 year old male... references to "getting your rocks off" and bodily functions abound. Irreverant, yes, but a helpful guide for beginners? Doubtful.
