Product Description

Based on the Emmy Award-winning web series Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, this collection of stories written by Zack Whedon (Deadwood, Fringe) chronicles some of the earliest adventures in the lives of archenemies Captain Hammer and Dr. Horrible. This anthology solves many unanswered questions left over from the show. For instance: What event inspired Dr. Horrible to become the world's greatest criminal mastermind? Why is Penny, the beautiful girl from the Laundromat, still single? How can you, the reader, be like blustering do-gooder Captain Hammer? And why is Horrible's sidekick, Moist, so... um... well, you'll find out!

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome!, April 20 2011
This review is from: Dr. Horrible (Paperback)
This is a totally fun read. The book includes about 4 or 5 short comic book stories featuring characters from Dr. Horrible. Each fills in some of the back story of the different character.
No singing though.

4.0 out of 5 stars Amazing writing, mostly good artwork, Dec 31 2010
This review is from: Dr. Horrible (Paperback)
If you are a fan of the sing along blog and it's humour style, I highly recommend this book. The writing is great in each and every story (Stories: Captain Hammer's campaign, Moist backstory, a period of Penny's recent life before meeting Captain Hammer, Evil League of Evil story, and of course, a Dr. Horrible backstory on why he was evil, first two encounters with Captain Hammer, and how he met Moist.) The artwork is pretty good in most. I was not at all a fan of the art in Captain Hammer's individual story, but it wasn't horrible by any means. The moist artwork is decent to good, and the penny story is slightly better, but the two that really stand out are Dr. Horrible and The Evil League of Evil. Both of those have purely awesome drawings. In my opinion, the Dr. Horrible story has the most spectacular writing, artwork and wit. Like I said though, some of the other stories didn't impress me as much visually. If you have never seen the movie, then I don't really recommend this product for you as much. You may be confused as to where each character fits into the big picture. Still, it is a great introduction the series, and when you're done reading the whole thing, you should grasp the concept.

5.0 out of 5 stars Back-story, Awesomeness and Great Graphics!, Oct 20 2010
This review is from: Dr. Horrible (Paperback)
These short stories help paint a better picture of the Whedon/Horrible world.
The writing is fantastic and funny, the graphics are awesome and it's just really fun to be back in the lives of these terrific characters. Definitely an A+!
