Really well, written, cast, filmed, special effects, moral to the story, and a side of Dr Who we haven't seen before. An excellent story by Davies (again), and Tennant shows why he's so powerful as this incarnation. Wonderfully entertaining and enthralling. . . . .

5.0 out of 5 stars A great special that mixes in more Horror with Doctor Who April 14 2010

Doctor Who through the many years has changed it's focus from being a show more for kids to more for adults, mixing campy comedy with plausible Sci-Fi when it could. This particular special, The Waters of Mars, to me feels like the idea was to create a special that had a bit of a horror movie thrown in there.

There is nothing super scary by any means and I found this to be a very enjoyable story and helps tie in the Doctors last days (as portrayed by David Tennant) before transitioning to Matt Smith.

Chances are if you are a Who fan, you already bought it :)
