Product Description

Christine Brown (Alison Lohman) is on her way to having it all: a devoted boyfriend (Justin Long), a hard-earned job promotion, and a bright future. But when she’s forced to make a tough decision that evicts an elderly woman from her house, Christine becomes the victim of an evil curse. Now she has only three days to dissuade a dark spirit from stealing her soul before she is dragged to hell for an eternity of unthinkable torment. Director Sam Raimi (Spider-Man and The Evil Dead Trilogy) returns to the horror genre with a vengeance in the film that critics rave is “the most crazy, fun and terrifying horror movie in years!” (Owen Gleiberman, Entertainment Weekly)

This is a really excellent scary movie. I'm old enough and jaded enough most scary movies don't affect me. This one did.

To me the image quality, cut footage, and extras are what makes it worth it to watch a movie, rather than watch it on cable or stream it.

The image quality is first rate. This version is the directors cut. And it has excellent extras.

It is unrated and its spooky. Personally I would recommend it for anyone over age 14.

This version is an excellent date movie and also an excellent movie to watch alone at night, plus great extras.

As a Marvel fan and a Sam Raimi fan, I found the Spiderman movies disappointing. If you liked the Evil Dead films, you'll enjoy "Drag Me to Hell." There's a lot of hilarious gory slapstick and some genuine scares. It's so odd to watch a movie like this without Bruce Campbell at least making a cameo, but it was fun. No one's trying to win any awards here. I suspect the cast and crew had a lot of laughs!

One interesting thing that's overlooked in the film is how everything that happens to the loan officer can be seen in two ways: either she's tormented by a genuine demon, or she's losing her mind. Most of the scary action happens without a witness and when another person is present, they might be frightened by the woman herself, not by what she is perceiving.

Watch the ending twice!

This was a good movie and the special effects were very good, a great effort depicting the struggle of good vs evil.

How long have we waited for Sam Raimi to return to horror? While I thoroughly enjoyed all three Spider-Man films (yes, even 3), I detested For Love Of The Game and could barely sit through The Gift. Neither one really felt like Raimi, and if it wasn't for the presence of a certain 1973 Oldsmobile Delta 88, I don't think I would have guessed they were Raimi.

Finally the original Sam Raimi has returned, back to basics, back to horror, back to what I think he does best. Along for the ride are Alison Lohman (Big Fish) (apparently Ellen Page was originally cast in the role) and Justin Long (Mac guy) among others. (Justin Long was funny in Dodgeball and he's great when he cameos in comedy films such as Zack and Miri Make a Porno, but in drama or horror he's kinda "blah".)

Lohman is Christine, a bank loan officer eager for promotion. When Mrs. Ganush comes in looking for another extension on her mortgage, Christine is told by her boss that this kind of decision is the kind that she should make on her own, if she wants the promotion. Christine listens to Mrs. Ganush, but regardless of what she thinks is actually the right choice, she decides to deny the extension to please her boss. Mrs. Ganush, facing eviction, gets down her knees and begs for Christine to reconsider. This confrontation does not end pleasantly for either, and Mrs. Ganush plots her revenge.

After work, Mrs. Ganush attacks Christine, steals a button from her coat and places a curse upon her. What results is a horrifying three days for Christine where everyone around her will question her mental health, while she is haunted and stalked by eveil spirits and demons and things of nightmares. If you have a phobia, chances are it's happening to Christine in this movie.

i liked this Sam Raimi film a lot.there are quite few spooky moments, and i love the atmosphere of dread.there are a lot of jump out of your seat scares, and a lot of eerie sounds.speaking of sounds, there are some very loud moments here, some of which border on repetitiveness.there were also a few campy moments, which to me weren't in keeping with the serious tone of the movie.and there is some really cringe worthy dialogue that had no relevance to the movie.otherwise, this is a great horror flick.Alison Lohman was really good as the lead character.David Paymer is very good in a small role.Justin long was OK,but had almost nothing to do.however there are two real stars of the movie, the first being Lorna Raver as evil incarnate.the second star is the makeup crew for Raver's character.it was nothing short of phenomenal.all tolled, Drag me to Hell is a 4/5

How in hell can people say this movie is no good, are you kidding me,boy people
are so cynical of there own shadow, you better be careful it's right behind you,
when you need that promotion sometimes it's always not good to fight for it,
just let it happen naturally, someone should've told our protagonist Christine
