This review is from: Dragnet 1970: Season 4 (DVD)
Another top-rated season of Dragnet, with Jack Webb and Harry Morgan reprising their roles for the final time, I think. Sound and picture quality is quite good. What's also interesting is how frequently Jack used the same character actors in various episodes. You can look for a solid four or five actors to be different characters every second or third episode. I burned through these very quickly (half-hour episodes). Highly recommended! Some episodes are a bit too "talky", but I've noted those few, and will probably not watch them again. Guest stars include Gus from "Leave It To Beaver"!

Just watched all of the episodes of Season 4 of Dragnet. Some great episodes here - my favs includePersonnel: The Shooting Juvenille: The Little Pusher (Kid comes from a home of "dopers") Burglary: Courtroom Bunco: $9,000 (LOL @ some of the lines - "It was hot in LA and Bill just had hot dogs" LOL) Narco: Missing Hype A.I.D.: The Weekend (Bill invites Joe to stay with him for the weekend) Forgery: The Ranger D.H.Q.: Night School (or as I call it "The Red Sweater" episode) I.A.D.: The Receipt Robbery: The Harrassing Wife (where a wife tries Friday's patience LOL!) D.H.Q.: The Victims (features Friday chewing out a rookie cop) Shout! Factory once again brings us the goods with the "Rest" of the 60's Dragnet. The menu graphics are the same as the previous two seasons. There's a bonus feature of Jack Webb and Harry Morgan (with a fancy moustache) from a 70s episode of Jack Benny's Farewell Show.... So nice now to have ALL of the 60s Dragnet episodes.... If there was only one slight negative about this season is that the picture seems to be a little "darker" with a few more noticable scratches and other residue.... but overall it's pretty clear and won't deter from the viewer's enjoyment of this.... maybe it was just the way it was filmed in the last season.... I'm just comparing to the previous 2 seasons. Still I would rate this A+ based on the fact I love the last season and I'm glad we have all of Dragnet (60's series) on DVD. 8 of 9 people found the following review helpful

Thank you shout factory for releasing these seasons of dragnet. And thank you to all the other fans for voicing your desire to have this entire series released. It's a shame that only four seasons were produced because this is my all time favorite show. I started watching it on nick at nite when I was six or seven and I've been hooked ever since. This isn't my favorite season of the show but all four seasons are equally good. This does contain my favorite episode though. Starring the late Jill Banner playing three different roles in one episode. Picture and sound quality are excellent just like previous shout releases. The packaging has changed from slim line cases in a box to a keep case with flip disc holders. Like the CBS releases ala the untouchables, the fugitive, happy days etc. I'm ao happy to have the entire series on DVD. Again thank you shout and dragnet fans.

I believe in going out on top and thats just what Jack Webb did. A great series. 67 and 70 were my favorite seasons. Great packaging and superior quality.
