This review is from: Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 2 (Video Game)
Overall, I though this game was horible. I thought it would go though the story like in the first Budokai. But I was mistaken. Now i knew , like most of you, that the story mode was replaced by a board game type thing, What i didn't know, however, is that the story was completely screwed up. For instance, on the first chapter i guess you would call it, Nappa and Raditz are on Earth at the same time. Then you don't even see Vegeta untill you are on Namek. Another downside about the board game thing is that it is really easy to miss an ability capsule. I missed the super saiyan capsule early in the game so I couldn't use the ss2 or ss3 capsules. You can miss these by simply not beating an opponent on the board. There are some good things though. Like the fusions such as gotenks and vegito. and the tournaments are some what fun. But it still doesnt make up for the crappy board game and huge story flaws. I don't recall Goku fighting Saibamen and Kid Buu at the same time. If your willing to go though all the crap too unlock all the good stuff, then its an ok game. If you a diehard fan you'll most likely be greatly disappointed.

Dragon Ball Z: Budokai was released at the end of 2002. With that game, it became evident that American DBZ games might still have a chance (regardless of what those brainless folks at X Play said.) The company promised a sequel, which has now arrived on the Playstation 2. How does Budokai 2 measure up? Read on, and you shall see.PROS: -The game always has a list of your character's special moves handy. CONS: OVERALL:

All new charecters, all new graphics, all new story mode and an ehanced gameplay. Definitly outbeating the other classic smash hit Dragonball Z Budokai. If you're a fan of the famous Drangonball seies, you'll love this game, that allows you to play with all liscenced names including Goku, Piccolo, Vegeta, Gohan, Sayaman, Teen Gohan, Yamcha, Krillin, Buu, Friza and even Cell. All major charecters are back including Tien, Trunks and a newly added Hercule. There is a new fully developed story mode that allows you to play in any part of the Universe including Earth and Namek. Further more there is the long awaited practice and trainning mode, Babadi's Spaceship and the always excellent, Tournment mode that allows you to play against all 30 charecter to face the current champion and be crowned the best fighter, unlocking super sayin and special finishing move abilities. If you like this game, consider playing IWF: Intrducing Ultimate Muscle or Dragonball Z Budokai 3: The return of the 4th Sayin featuring Vegeta, Brolly and Bardock coming out late this year.
