Product Description

Review

Praise for Dragonskin Slippers: An action packed, unputdownable story, with a clever mixture of adventure, humour, and really touching moments Primary Times Praise for Dragon Flight: Fans of the first book will find the same strengths here: the imaginatively detailed scenes; the thrilling, spell-fueled action; the possibility of romance with a prince; and the appealing, brave heroine Booklist George endows each of the characters, human or dragon, with a unique personality, and although their tale is set in a distant, mythical past, these characters speak and act with a modern sensibility that makes them accessible to young readers. Action, danger, pathos and romance - this fantasy has it all Kirkus Reviews --This text refers to an alternate Paperback edition.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved, Loved, Loved It!, May 24 2009
By Virginia Smith - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Dragon Spear (Hardcover)
In the third installment of Jessica Day George's dragon series, Creel and her prince charming, Luka, visit the dragons' Far Island home just in time to witness the abduction of Queen Velika. They set off to help Shardas and a handful of dragons rescue the queen from a band of strange dragons with evil intentions. To make matters worse, when they find her, she is about to lay a clutch of eggs, and can't be moved.

Dragon Spear is an exciting adventure with a plot that kept me guessing and delighted with every new development. I loved visiting the dragons' new home along with Creel, and was so immersed in the story I could smell the smoke and feel the heat of Velika's volcanic prison. A satisfying ending that brought tears to my eyes topped off a thoroughly delightful read. A must-read for fantasy adventure lovers of all ages!

5.0 out of 5 stars A spectacular end to a spectacular series, May 30 2009
By Lauren Richards "Aria Blackfire" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Dragon Spear (Hardcover)
I remember when I found out that there was going to be a third book in this series. I had just gotten Princess of the Midnight Ball (all of Jessica's books are great) and the page fell open to the "other books by this author" page. I scoffed, of course I had all of th- OHMYGOD THERE'S A THIRD ONE COMING OUT!

This finale was the grandest of grand. I laughed (as I always do with Creel and Luka) and cried (as always do at the end of a good series) and I shouted out loud as I cheered their exploits.

Creel and Luka are finally getting married! But the King ain't makin' it easy. To take up some time, and relieve some tension, Creel and Luka decide to visit their Dragon friends. But they aren't there long when Disaster strikes!

I would suggest these books to anyone who has read the Enchanted Forest Chronicles, the Chrestomanci Chronicles, or Howl's Moving Castle trilogy. Creel and Luka are characters, and although I was sad to see them go, it was done in a way that left me utterly satisfied.

Thank you Jessica

5.0 out of 5 stars A Wonderful Wrap Up, Jun 1 2009
By M. Atkinson - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Dragon Spear (Hardcover)
I've loved the previous books in the Dragon Slippers series and I was counting down the days for the final installment, "Dragon Spear" to be released. I rushed out to purchase it and read it that night. I have to say, I loved it.
I enjoyed reading about my favorite characters all over again, getting to know some other characters a little better, and visiting the island the dragons had settled. The writing was descriptive, interesting, and well thought out. It was purely a fun, enjoyable read.
One thing that I really loved about the series was that Jessica Day George stayed true to her characters from the first book to the very last. Although there were twists and turns in the final story, I felt that Creel's character was always consistent. I've never felt confused by her choices or her voice, even if I didn't always love everything about her personality. Because of this, I liked reading about Creel and I trusted Mrs. George's writing. Also, I loved reading an ending to a series that not only left me satisfied, but also ended on a good note.
Thank you, Mrs. George, for another wonderful book to enjoy again and again, and for a series that I can share with my children. Although I'm sad to see the series end, I'll be looking forward to your next book!
