No middle book of a trilogy lag here! I was enchanted by the first book, Dragoncharm, but still, wondered if the blurb splashed across the front of the book was a bit of publisher's hype -- it says "The Ultimate Dragon Saga Continues" -- now, having finished this just yesterday, I can say I do believe it just may be the ultimate dragon saga! I remain amazed at Edwards' virtuosic imagination, which is not just over the top scattershot phantasm flung about, but fits directly into the tale being told at all times. He excels at bringing his readers a large and sweeping panorama while at the very same time keeping a focus on the persons and personalities of the dragon characters he has so compellingly introduced us to. Wonderfully sprinkling a reference here or there, to a time gone by in the first book, he made me realize what an art it is to write the passage of time so well, and in this case write it well when time itself is being changed and warped! I can't say enough about these books so far, and am at once dying to begin and dreading to begin the last one, Dragonflame, as I never really want it to end. No matter how late in time I've read and reviewed these books, take it from me, they are classics, and therefore timeless.
