This book is inspiring my five year old daughter to draw!

The step-by-step approach in this book is clearly illustrated, allowing my daughter to create some amazing artwork from animals to castles to dinosaurs. It is enchanting to watch your children learn how easy it is to flip to an exercise and choose circles, squares, triangles as a base for their artwork. Drawing along side her is also a lot of fun too. The book does a great job of providing just the right mix of easy and moderately complex projects to inspire young children to draw. As an educator of 15+ years with four children of my own, I highly recommend this book to any parent as a gift to inspire the budding artist.

I am learning to do illustrations for game programming and this book has been amazing in terms of learning the basics of drawing...simple and easy to understand - combining basic shapes and then modifying to create characters...has given me the basics to be able to draw which prior didn't think I had the skill.

Worth the purchase!

Great for those of us who can't draw! Dec 26 2013
By PB Max - Published on Amazon.com

We got this for the boys for Xmas, but honestly, I am enjoying it for myself also. I have never been good at drawing, but this is easy to follow and very predictable. Our boys are young now, but they are enjoying trying to emulate the pictures. This will easily grow with them and they will only continue to perfect it.

I was teaching a cartooning class at my school and wanted some new material. I found this book at the Art Museum. The children loved it sooo much I ordered a second copy for the classroom. It is almost as worn as the first. I am going back for number three. Excellent.

Great learn to draw starter Dec 18 2013
By Jackie Brown - Published on Amazon.com

I bought this for my 5 year old son who loves to draw stick people. The figures are mostly simple shapes, but do incorporate other drawing to finish the figure. All in all a good book of good quality. Seems like it will hold up to years of abuse.
Daughter Loves this book May 29 2014

We have spent a lot of hours using this book and I love it. My daughter (7 years old) can create some surprizingly good cartoons with this book.

I highly suggest it because it has good step by step details that can be followed and not like some of the crazy art books with 3 steps and a completed amazing drawing.
