Lovely music for babes and parents,

One thing I wasn't looking forward to about parenthood was having to listen to a lot of repetitive, babyish kids' music. A friend bought me two Putumayo CDs for baby gifts (this one and New Orleans Playground), and it was love at first listen! These melodies are gorgeous and soothing without being simplistic and kiddish. I actually enjoy listening to this disc when I'm in need of something relaxing. My baby loves it too - I often pop it on the iPod when I'm trying to get him down to sleep, or just when we want to start calming down at the end of the day.

I was somewhat disappointed in this CD. I know that lullabies are mostly simple repetitive melodies and are supposed to be relaxing, but some of the pieces on this CD didn't appeal to me that much - I found them quite honestly boring, and not very soothing.
