Ernie Coombs' Mr. Dressup, along with his puppet friends Casey and Finnegan, was a staple of CBC's morning schedule for an incredible 32 years. He closed his tickle trunk for the last time in 1996, although this timeless children's show continues to be rerun today. That same year, Coombs was awarded the Order of Canada for his many years of bringing quality programming to Canadian children.

5.0 out of 5 stars As Good As Ages Ago April 27 2011
This video set is gentle creative & not too terribly politically incorrect as some older shows can be.
My two and one half year old has been enjoying them and using puppets more.
No high tech is a good thing in this creative household!
Mr Dress up is a fine Canadian fellah!

5.0 out of 5 stars Mr. Dressup the way I remembered it Sept. 3 2013

This is a wonderful package of shows - I only wish it was twice the size. My kids simply love this series, much as I did when I first watched them as a child on tv many years ago. The slow, even pace of the show is quite different from the kind of shows on TV these days, but this serves to sooth and entertain my children even more. They love to sing along with the silly songs, and are held spellbound by the drawings, stories, and dressing up time on the show. If you can still find this set anywhere, grab it while you can as I has not been offered for sale anywhere lately. I hope they come up with more 'colours' for additional sets! Highly highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful April 21 2011
By Diane
I was so amazed that these were just as great as I remembered as a kid. It is rare that the things we remember being great as kids turn out that way when we try to 'go back'. But Mr. Dressup is still so calming and interesting, and my 1 and 3 yr olds love him too. More than Dora!
