5.0 out of 5 stars Georgian folk music at its historic best, Aug 19 2002
This review is from: Drinking Horns: Gramaphones... (Audio CD)
This recording is the first CD of Georgian folk songs from the beginning of the 20th century to be commercially released. Fans of Rustavi and other recent Georgian choruses will be fascinated by the contrasts in the styles of singing. This CD is a must-have for all lovers of Georgian music and indeed all lovers of traditional polyphonic singing in general. The notes provide very interesting biographical and historical information.
