A Genuine Gift, Aug 7 2003
This review is from: Drowning Rapunzel (Paperback)
It was by accident (fortunate for me, however) that I came across Annette Gisby's SILENT SCREAMS, a truly well-crafted thriller. The story of Jessica and her traumatizing secrets is cleaver and captivating to the very end. I admit that I was secretly waiting for the appearance of Ms. Gisby's DROWNING RAPUNZEL. Without question, this one is indeed masterful. The character Beth reminds me of the earlier traumatized victim (my own perspective) Jessica. But here the author has seemingly penetrated more deeply into the psyche of her characters, of course most particularly with Beth Gregory. Not only has the author given her protagonist "a gift", but Ms. Gisby possesses an outstanding gift of her own for writing exciting thrillers. I highly recommend this novel.

Romance and Murder Mystery At Its Best!, Nov 8 2003
This review is from: Drowning Rapunzel (Paperback)
Beth Gregory is a very simple yet complicated young woman; a simple commoner who struggles to get out on her own and make a living. Upon taking a secretarial position for an artist, her life drastically changes. She has visions that involve murder and mystic, but what happens when the victim she sees is herself? Is she psychic or psycho? Can she stop the villain before she becomes the next victim? This is one of the best romance mystery books that I have ever read! You won't be disappointed in Ms. Gisby's writing! As an author, I know the rule of "presenting the villain" early in the book, but never knew who it really was until the last pages! I read this on vacation, and made my husband set in the hot car in the middle of the desert for ten minutes so that I could finish reading it before taking my turn at driving! An exciting thriller!, Jun 30 2003
This review is from: Drowning Rapunzel (Paperback)
Wow! Ms. Gisby has written an exciting thriller! DROWNING RUPUNZEL is definitely my kind of read. From start to finish, I couldn't put this book down. The main character, Beth Gregory is alive, no matter that the reader knows this is fiction. Will she ever find the peace that she so desires? Through all the twists and turns, you won't know until the very end. How awful to find out you are scheduled to be a victim of your own affliction. What do I mean? Get a copy of this book and find out. You will be sorry if you don't, because the next vision Beth has-may be you as the victim. Don't believe in physic ability? You will when you read this thriller.
