"Money" opens with the sound of bong hits and coughing instead of the cash register, then grooves to a reggae beat as guitar and organ churn out the classic riff--there’s even the signatory sax break in the middle. The group hits it just right on "Great Gig In The Sky," retaining the soaring gospel voice, while the remake of the chiming bells on "Time" reveals a bit of irreverent humor. If you're a fan of Pink Floyd or a fan of Reggae then you'll love this album. This is easily one of my most listened to albums of the past year or more! When you first pop the CD in you'll hear Dark Side's classic opening track Speak To Me/Breathe (In The Air) along with the sounds of the heartbeat, clock (and some other newer additions), as soon as the bass and the Reggae guitar begin you know that you are in for a treat. It's really cool how they replace the guitar solos with horns and other unique instrumentation. In the song Money they use some unique sound effects (as opposed to the change and a cash register sounds) that will make you smile. Not a bad song in the buch--it flows together brilliantly! Highly Recommended!

Wow, this record really holds up! I never realized how Dark Side lends itself to Reggae, but I guess the geniuses at Easy Star saw it coming. I've heard this record played between sets at shows before, and once I bought it I realized it was solid start to finish...the bonus tracks are dubbed out and extended, the way any Pink Floyd fan can appreciate (hint, hint) and the integrity of the music is worthy. I am not surprised in the slightest that the fellas in Pink Floyd (and their management) decided to lend their material to this project. I can't wait to see what Easy Star does next!!!

I don't much like the original Pink Floyd version of "dark.." nearly as much as this cover. and I dont really think of myself as a reggae fan either. however i listened to this album after a kid brought it to my art class and I have been searching for it since. it totally makes me appreciate the pink floyd lyrics and now I appreciate the original a little more.. maybe i just really prefer the vocals on dub. but definately worthy of being played over and over while I zone out and paint. i could listen to this album all day
