Ce commentaire est de: Dungeons of Kuba (Paperback)
This book really kept me captivated from the moment I purchased it four years ago in a used book shop in Williamsburg, VA.

Full of action, adventure and suspense, The Dungeons of Kuba book is a delight for any fan of Heroic Fantasy. What is fantastic is the book has two female protagonists and a strong female antagonist! That has rarely been shown in fantasy novels. I really loved the characterizations!

My only quibble was I felt that not enough emotion was conveyed by the male supporting character after his crew was massacred by pirates. A captain of his stature would have mourned their loss as well as that of his vessel. That he did not show any emotion when his crew was decimated was unrealistic. But that is my only real quibble with the book.

Diamond's ideas are so refreshing and innovative that I believe that GRR Martin may have been influenced by the book; a similar scene from The Dungeons of Kuba was written in his book A Game of Thrones (See The Fire Scene In The Tower/Library). However, it may be just a coincidence.

Only while reading the book did I realize it was part of a series! I have now acquired the other three books from Amazon! I can't wait to devour them and reenter Graham Diamond's wonderful world of fantasy. My main regret is that Diamond seems to have retired from writing, as he has not published anything in years.

These books are well-written and exciting, and a delight to both those experienced in fantasy as well as those just beginning their readings in the genre. Find and read these books and I promise that you won't be dissapointed! I'm glad to be the first man to review The Dungeons of Kuba for Amazon. It is a book (And Series) that will stay with me forever!
