Cameryn's ex-boyfriend is back...and ready to kill!

Cameryn had thought she was in love with him. He was smart, strong, and would do anything for her — even kill. Kyle O'Neil disappeared after his first attempt on Cameryn's life at the end of The Angel of Death. Now he is back for his second. He's leaving macabre love notes for her everywhere — on her computer, on her cell phone, and on the body of a dead man. And while everyone is determined to keep Cameryn safe, only she knows that it's up to her to keep Kyle from killing again — and again. Alane Ferguson delivers her most gripping Forensic Mystery yet!

About the Author

5.0 out of 5 stars Courtesy of Teens Read Too, Dec 22 2009
This review is from: The Dying Breath (Hardcover)
Cameryn is being stalked by her old boyfriend, killer Kyle O'Neil. The local cops, especially Justin, are keeping a close eye on her. But no one realizes just how close Kyle is getting until Cameryn finds the body of Leather Ed.

Next to Ed's body is a note left just for Cameryn. The house is a mess, but the note has been left out in plain sight for anyone to find. The note calls Cameryn his soul mate and that he will love her until her dying breath. This does not sound good at all.

From that point on, it seems like Kyle is one step ahead of everyone. When two famous people are found dead in a restaurant, the case gets even more bizarre. Dr. Moore, the cranky pathologist, calls Cameryn in to assist with the autopsies. He's discovered something in their lungs he's never encountered before. With a cryptic clue left by Kyle, Cameryn won't quit until she can figure out the clue and tie Leather Ed's death with the other two dead people.

All the while, Kyle keeps trying to contact Cameryn, and Justin keeps trying to protect her. Cameryn is finally willing to let Justin into her heart a little further, but life keeps getting in the way.

THE DYING BREATH does not fail to capture the reader's attention. Keeping up with events from past stories, Cameryn develops into a determined young woman unwilling to give in to the fear Kyle is trying to promote. With a hint more romance in this novel, there is truly something for everyone: suspense, intrigue, romance, and yes, even a little gore (What did you expect? It's a novel about forensics!). The pages will fly by, and the ending will leave you breathless.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Read for Young Adults & Those Young at Heart, Oct 24 2011
By NancyofUtah - Published on Amazon.com
This book was recommended to me by a teenager skilled at reviewing popular books for young adults (YA). As a mature adult, I quickly became totally engrossed in this well written novel and was surprised how well I liked the flow of the book much better than more popular adult books. No adult or teenager could get bored with this story. The author is extremely talented and I'll be reading more of her works, and suggest you try this book, too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Teen reading, Dec 4 2010
By James Williston Klugh "BK" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: The Dying Breath (Hardcover)
As a former teacher (30 yrs.) I've constantly looked for ways to increase not only literacy but develop a new generation of reading for fun.
All of her Forensic novels are great. With so much of this subject on tv, a lot of kids bought into reading about it in a reading friendly way.
