With its sleek black design and sporty features, the ESQ by Movado Men's Fusion Chronograph Black Rubber Strap Watch can be worn by business men and athletes alike. The large case contains a mix of carbon fiber and dark stainless steel, featuring a gold-toned aluminum bezel displaying a tachymeter to measure rapid distances. The black dial hosts a display calendar showing the day and month near the 12 o'clock, sitting just above three subdials arranged in a triangle pointing at the six o'clock. Thick rose-gold hour, minute, and second hands tick towards wide rose and white lines standing at each hour. The band consists of smooth, sturdy black rubber for durability and comfort, and closes with a fold-over push-button clasp. This watch, while appearing to be of good quality and really nice looking, was unfortunately dead on arrival. It appears that this was a previously returned item. as the packaging was quite tattered and all of the protective plastic wrap and tags had already been removed from the watch. I am therefore not blaming Movado for this issue.
However, Amazon's quality control needs to be seriously tightened up as this is the third watch (all different brands and types, not three of this watch) that I have purchased from them that was in a similar condition and had to be returned. This is a waste of my time and money and is eroding my faith in Amazon as a retailer of quality merchandise.
Update: I liked this watch so much that I opted to have it repaired rather than return it. They replaced a dead battery, cleaned the movement and replaced a dried out ring. It is now working perfectly. I'm glad that I decided to keep it.
