Book Description

Eadweard Muybridge (1830-1904) is an important name in early photographic history. His pioneering locomotion studies of the 1870s and 1880s, which produced over 20,000 photographs, radically changed the way in which people understood animal and human movement. Less well known is his landscape work, a selection of which is presented in this book.

Other artists in this series include: Eugene Atget, Mathew Brady, Wynn Bullock, Julia Margaret Cameron, Joan Fontcuberta, David Goldblatt, Nan Goldin, Graciela Iturbide, Andre Kertesz, Dorothea Lange, Mary Ellen Mark, Joel Meyerowitz, Boris Mikhailov, Lisette Model, Laszlo Moholy-Nagy, Eugene Richards, W. Eugene Smith, Shomei Tomatsu, Joel-Peter Witkin
