Product Description

By today's standards, the1960s airplanes were unacceptably noisy and serious polluters. This book looks at the three major jetliners of the decade providing details of design, production, and service. It's packed with superb period colour photos resurrecting a bygone era of jet travel.

4.0 out of 5 stars Book was good, but not as great as I had hoped for., April 3 2002
This review is from: Early American Jetliners: Boeing 707, Douglas DC-8 & Convair 880 (Paperback)
It may have been that my expectations were a little too high. After all, this is one book dealing with 3 different types of airliners. Don't get me wrong, I don't regret my purchase, and I would buy it again, but it isn't exactly what I had hoped for. The section on the Convair airliners was very short, but maybe that is to be expected since there not not many of that type made. Overall a good book, but not one of the best.

Wonderful pictures and very informative text. Breaks down the first 3 U.S. built airliners in great detail along with list of crashes. A must have for any airliner enthusiast
