About the Author
Scott Cunningham practiced magic actively for over twenty years. He was the author of more than fifty books covering both fiction and non-fiction subject matter; sixteen of his titles are published by Llewellyn Publications. Scott's books reflect a broad range of interests within the New Age sphere, where he was very highly regarded. He passed from this life on March 28, 1993, after a long illness.

Perhaps it was divine intervention that got me walking along the path of wicca, and perhaps this intervention urged to pick up this book so strongly. However it may be, all in all, this is the very first book i got on wicca, this and another by Silver RavenWolf called Teen Witch, a good one too. But Earth Power gave a me this sense of power and attunement to nature itself and perhaps a stronger bond with the powers that be. I cannot exactly put to words how it really feels, but just know that the spells within this book increases this awareness and sense within you of magic and forces all around you that all of you know are there but just can't seem to touch them and experience them with all your heart. You learn to respect and work with these forces to better yourselves.This book and the spells and rituals, are not complicated at all, no tedious and long rituals like casting circles or altars,esbats and sabbats, no need for ordinary materials and ingredients that you would need for normal wiccan rituals. This is Elemental Magick, only you and the elements of nature are all that is needed to make *~MAGICK~*! Blessed Be Everyone. ;)

Earth Power is a great book for those who are new to Witchcraft and interested in Natural Magick. Cunningham provides useful information while his explanations and instructions are easy to follow. The spells featured in the book are actually "do-able"; they don't require fancy robes, prescious hard-to-find stones, and even harder-to-find herbs. They are very simple and to-the-point, which is extremely helpful for us who dislike long, complicated rituals. You wont find any long, rambling chants. Instead, Earth Power contains short, simple chants for a practical and natural form of magick.This is NOT a book for Wiccans. You'll not find the rules and basics of Wicca nor will you find any ceremonial magick. Earth Power is a how-to book without the rigid rules that you often see in occult books. It does not teach, it guides. It guides you and inspires you to create your own magick YOUR way.

Interesting, but about the rituals and spells...,

They are incredibly simple and, even though I hate to say it since Scott Cunningham is a great author, childish and superstitious. Most of the spells aren't really spells, just advice and suggestions.For instance: A Spell to Protect Loved Ones Throw dirt or sand after friends and family once they leave your home without their noticing. A Spell to Bind a Lover Tie an article of their clothing with one of your own to keep your relationship thriving and happy. See what I mean? The theories and information about various magickal techniques are worth the purchase, but don't buy it if you're just looking for magickal workings.
