This is the best Earth Wind & Fire DVD you can buy. April 30 2009

AS the title says, This is the best Earth Wind & Fire DVD you can buy. There is a similar DVD with the same name Called Earth Wind & Fire, Live in Japan 1998. But that one is only one disc and just the DVD of their 1990 concert. This one is two discs, one is the DVD concert and the other one is a cd of the concert. Eventhough the explanation is vague, the DVD is the full and complete concert but the cd is not. The cd contains almost everything that's on the DVD but where the DVD shows in track # 12 Let's Groove the song contains in the middle a long drum solo by Sonny Emory, the cd does not have the drum solo. But for some strange reason they put in the track where all the band members are introduced to the audience.

For $6.00 more this is still the best buy and a definite must for any Earth Wind & Fire fan.

A blast from the past March 3 2011

1. I have several EWF concert videos; all have their pros / cons. However, this is a no brainer purchase for any semi-hardcore EWF fan. The concert footage is... decent, but dated; it is what it is based on the techology available at the time. The sound is decent. The concert and performance is excellent. Furthermore, some of the versions of their classic tunes are awesome. I'll just leave it at that, but the performance you'll see in this concert is fairly unique, especially when compared to their gigs later on. Highly recommended.

excellent and interesting May 19 2009

Just got this dvd. It exceeded my expectations. I am a long time Crimson fan. But I don't always like some of the CDs and DVDs. This one is a winner.

Great show from the last tour with Maurice White. Oct. 28 2008

Any EWF show you can't go wrong with. If I had one concern about this show it would be that it isn't long enough. Maurice White hasn't performed with EWF in years, so a few more songs would have been great. But that aside, another outstanding show from one of the greatest bands ever, Earth Wind & Fire!

KC Live In Japan! Jan. 26 2009

I grew up in a conservative community where country and beach musc was the norm. So not only did our local radio stations reflect this culture, but progressive bands found more receptive venues. When Jimi Hendrix came to Charlotte, it was as a warm-up band for the Monkees. So I never got to see my favorite band until the Age of DVD. "Live In Japan" not only brings my first video of King Crimson, but the "THRAK" band itself looking pretty impressive. For the most part the video is excellent and the soundtrack is blasting away. If you like "THRAK" in any of its audio manifestations you have to see this Japanese version. I swear, it's got the most powerful "Red" I think I've heard! And all the cuts are almost perfect.
[Ed. note: I believe, from the dates and location, that this concert part is "Deja Vroom" without the navigation difficulties.]
