Moe and Abjornsen are the Hans Christian Anderson/ Perrault of their culture. Any Norwegian will have grown up knowing and loving these tales. A real cultural classic and a great -- unusual -- baby shower present.

I loved East O' the Sun and West O' the Moon as a child and have looked for it on and off for a while now. Was really glad to see it on Amazon so I purchesed it. I loved the story again and also enjoyed the other fairy tales in the book as well.

Not sure who did (or who checked) the translation, but it's not great. I like having stories for my daughter that are connected to her background, but it is hard to read (especially for a tired parent) and later runs the risk of teaching her improper English.
