With valuable technical information, and more than 130 photos to clarify every step, this new volume in the Sewing Companion Library will guide you through everything you need to know to get the most out of your machine, including how to thread your serger right every time; find the machine settings, needles and thread that suit your fabric; make fancy edges and hems that only a serger can do, choose and use the notions that work best; turn inside and outside corners perfectly; work with sheer fabrics and lace; make a fancy braid or a custom ribbon to match your garment; sew easy bias tubing, and much more.

This is a great book for anyone who sergers, or would like to own and learn to use a serger. It is written in a clear concise way. Easy to understand with many supporting photographs. No matter what type of serger you own this book will help you to make the most of it. Serging fine fabrics can be intimidating, and a bit tricky but this book makes it easy.

5.0 out of 5 stars great information, Jan 20 2006
By Nise - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Easy Guide to Serging Fine Fabrics (Paperback)
This book has great information on how to serge, tips on how to improve your technique, and great photos of the various procedures in action. It will teach you the basic foundation of serging and using your machine. It is not however a project book. Look elsewhere for actual projects, but get this for your personal reference library and it will serve you well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Needed for your sewing library, Mar 28 2011
By Vivian Katz "Native Viv" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Easy Guide to Serging Fine Fabrics (Paperback)
This is the book you need when you didn't get a chance to take the training when you bought the machine, or didn't get the chance to practice what you were taught. I have had my serger for 10 years and never learned how to do anything but finish seams, and sometimes they aren't so good. This book has taught me how to deal with all those picky little details I couldn't figure out, like turning corners, creating plackets, easing fabric, creating serger french seams. There are great learning techniques that are easy to master, with step by step instructions. This book helps perfect your seam, and teaches you how to use your machine more creatively and for more practical applications.
