Format:Unknown Binding
This is the old 1980 edition and not recommended because there is a 6th edition, c.2005 published by Greystone Books with the same title and same author Jean Cousins. The new edition is obviously more accurate and has 62 hiking trails compared to 36 in the old edition.

If you are determined to get the old book, here are the details. The book covers hikes north to Garibaldi Park, east to Hope, south to Mount Baker. The 3 sections are Spring hikes (9 trails), Summer and Fall hikes (15 trails) and Winter hikes (12 trails). Each trail is rated easy, moderately easy and moderately difficult. The hiking trails are up to 2 hours driving time from Vancouver City Hall and all hikes can be done in one day. This book is for the novice with careful advice on dress, wardrobe, what to put in your rucksack, walking techniques, weather and animal hazards and survival techniques. While the trail maps in the book are adequate, the authors suggest purchasing topographic maps (and knowing how to read them). This is a good book but out of date.
