Book Description

Nov. 9 2010
New parents are often dismayed to discover that baby's first year costs an average of $10,000--and that doesn't include daycare! But there is a way to beat the system, saving upwards of $7000 without sacrificing safety or quality. The best news is that when it comes to buying baby gear, the cheaper choice can be the Greener choice-you just have to know how to save serious money. Ecofrugal Baby can teach you how. In this book you will find: the best modern techniques for saving money on baby costs, chapters arranged by topic (e.g. clothing) so you can easily find what you're looking for, cheat sheets to remind you of the tips covered in each section, and a baby gear checklist that doubles as a cost/savings calculator. Ecofrugal Baby is a must-have resource for busy parents who want to spend their hard-earned money on a college fund, not sippy cups. If you or someone you know is gearing up for the baby gear hunt, don't go without this book. It will save you thousands.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book for New Parents June 14 2012
By Tania Gamper - Published on Amazon.com
This is a great book if you want not only to save in baby's stuff and also to know what you need for your baby. As new parents we found ouselves asking what we really need for our child. There are so many things and stores seems just want to sell. Baby's stuff can be very expensive. The author offers practical tips of how to save and I found also a way to know what I was needing for my bundle of joy. This is a great book to get for a new parents to be.

As a previous review said, I too wish I had this book with our first child! We did a decent job of saving money with Freecycle and Craigslist, but I realize now how much better we could have done! Great tips for new parents!! The tips are laid out very well, and I love the end-of-chapter "cheat sheets" (perfect if you're in crunch time!)
