Jan 31 2010
Edward is a bombshell; for the nature of Destiny and Fate, and the truth about Tudor history. Here are the Holy Grail, the Sword and Druid Glass; amongst love and death, in the midst of real danger. The author lifts the veil on a history more than five hundred years old, and the emotions he finds within himself. It isn't just what lies under History; the question is, what to do with magic and reincarnation?

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow! Great read!! April 8 2011
Format:Paperback
When I got into it I couldn't put Edward down, it really made me think.

There is so much information on so many fascinating things.

I guess it would really help students studying the Tudors, or Richard III, but that isn't why I read it.

Are Reincarnation, and the Grail for real?

Format:Paperback
This story concerns Edward Stafford, the future duke of Buckingham and a separate, present-day, male character; their stories are inexplicably bound to one another. With the help of channeling and meditation, the present day character has "visions" that feel more like time travel; visions so tangible and life-like that the main, present-day character is left with puzzling questions about his past and the possibility that he might have lived before.

The first half of the story deals with the main, present-day character and what is the past life of Edward Stafford. As the story progresses, so too do the visions and their intensity; the increasingly-vivid and disturbing visions of the past intrude into the present and force the present-day character to ask for the help of a spirit medium. The second half of the novel seems to drag-on somewhat as the separation between the present and the past all but disappears; this immerses the reader rather deeply into the historic time period and leave them wondering about what is taking place in the present, at the same time. Many themes and topics covered within the novel, such as channeling, meditation, hypnotherapy and the Holy Grail to mention a few, are almost too far-fetched to believe. This unique take and re-examination of Tudor history will ask more questions than the author has had the time or space to answer. EDWARD is by no means an easy read as it deals many weighty and somewhat controversial subjects and it touches on a number of myths and legends. With murder, scheming, betrayal and embezzlement, EDWARD has a timeless quality that readers will enjoy; this and many other story elements will make it easy for readers to identify with. EDWARD, as it is portrayed by Mike Voyce, encourages readers to ask questions and make their own interpretations of the facts and the limitless possibilities of the world around us. To say that EDWARD is just another work of speculative fiction is to make light of the author's work, experiences and his intelligence. Included at the end of the novel is a note from the author, Mike Voyce.

EDWARD is highly recommended reading material for those who have a love of history and mysticism; having an open mind is a must!

5.0 out of 5 stars Will provoke some questions May 23 2011

Review:
I found this book intriguing. It is not a simple read and it will make you ask some questions about what you believe in regards to Tudor history, religious history and thought channelling.
I never believed Richard II killed his nephews and have never had a `love' of the Tudors, so what the author `saw' in his channelling is quiet credible to me, but then I believe in reincarnation, so I might have a bias there, too.
What I don't believe is the story of the Holy Grail, or for that matter most religious `truths'. I'm not religious at all, but that's not for me to talk about here. I feel the author, as Edward, did see such episodes in regards to The Holy Grail, and that is believable because the people of those times believed deeply in the religious stories. So for Edward to believe he had special stones, a special sword, etc, if highly likely true. But as a modern person I don't.

The story is in two parts - the author in his modern life, and the (past) when he channels Edward. Both parts of this story are very interesting. The story flows smoothly between the two, and there are only a few small areas where the merge of modern and historical don't work well for me and I had to double back and see where the change happened. When we're deep in Edward's time I was hooked and enjoyed it thoroughly.

Mike Voyce can write a story rather well and his story is well worth the effort it took him to get it written and published. If you enjoy historical fiction, you'll like this book, and if you are in any way curious about reincarnation and channelling then again, this a book for you.
