Keith Kenniff is a genius, Nov 20 2006

If you are a fan of Sigur Ros, The Album Leaf, or any other ambient band, you are sure to love Helios. Keith Kenniff should be more recognized for what he does.
This album is full of very interesting beats that sound as if they belong in the natural world. Keith uses the traditional sound of drums at times, but incorporates extremely natural-sounding field recordings as part of subtle, but impactful beats. His use of the electric and acoustic guitar as the basis of his beautiful melodies is very soothing and is quite minimalistic which, I believe, contributes towards the soothing nature of his music.
At times, the album is reminiscient of Sigur Ros without the vocals, and a bit more electronica influence.
For me, this cd is like Aderol through my speakers. Whenever I listen to it, I can focus intensely on whatever I am trying to accomplish.
Very underappreciated, extremely artistic album, I would reccommend it to anyone, regardless of what music you listen to. 5 stars!

Kinda like a REAL soft "The Books", Jan 17 2008

Close your eyes when listening to this album.
Great for sleeping to, road trips when you want to reflect, music to contemplate with.
I bought this on a knee-jerk reaction. Wasn't sure I made the right choice until I listened to it. This is The Books' long-lost brother. I think of Pat Metheny to go along seeing how many if not all the tracks feature a real nice acoustic guitar with reverb.
If you get into The Books, you're sure to get into this. If you get into reflective instrumental music, I say give this a try.
