Deliciously haunting,

This review is from: El Greco (Audio CD)
El Greco is simply deep & haunting. vangelis's music seems to be interpreted differently by many listeners, his fans, serious ones, will definitely enjoy this album. The movements seem to rise from long gone distant memories, a time dimension we are not familiar with, think of someone dipping into a steady flow of sombre emotions experiencing the hours of ancient times chiming out its presence with devastating clarity. It is almost as if History is talking to us from the past, but not in words. whatever the lesson or feeling it is conveying, it is nonetheless so deeply eloquent & reverent. This Cd is a modern musical masterpiece.

a Modern Masterpiece,
By
This review is from: El Greco (Audio CD)
I have been following Vangelis for well over 25 years and I think this is one of his best. Slowly evolving, deeply atmospheric, and sometimes downright creepy. Very moving and emotional, especially the two sections that feature vocals. The electronics are especially more modern sounding ( I personally find that some of his earlier, more popular and more "classic" - at least in terms of fans' preferances - work sounds terribly dated,as far as sound quality and the keyboards and synthesizers he used ) while at the same time having a timeless sound, like good orchestral work should. Very highly recommended to fans. ( You know who you are. )
