One of the best survival horror game available for the xbox 360. The controls take 15-30 minutes to get used to and the graphics are absolutely amazing. Gory shooter a-la RE 4 we could say, this game uses original ideas like dismembering your enemies with over 6 unique weapons who are all upgradeable, there is no overwhelming HUD only one that comes out like an holograph.

This game is about 10 hours, but its longevity depends if you're the kind of person to replay a game to try new stuff, different combination of weapons. Each difficulty adds something new to the AI of the monsters who become extremely aggressive and smart in later difficulties.

Scary game in high difficulty, great suspense, monsters follows you in every room if you even try to escape them, excellent graphics, one of the best game of 2008.
A sure buy for Sci-fi horror fans and a damn good rental for people interested in the genre.

Dead Space
This game had looked great from the trailers etc. and it turned out even better, adding suspense to high levels and taking you into an alternate universe for a servival based game! it has Amazing graphics, great story, but one thing i would watch out for is that the story line is only 10-15hours, so if youre looking for a Loooong game then you shouldnt go for this one. Overall game was awsome and well worth it.

This is a entry into the survival horror genre that is most defining, as an experience to the player as well as a measure in the genre overall. It sets the bar (high) for what a deep space horror adventure should be like. It's hard to find any flaws, I think there aren't any, graphics are superb, frame rate is extremely solid and the game mechanics are very fluid, easy to get used to, and the sound is just adding an incredible level of suspension to the mix. Horror is all about dark and creepy environments with unexpected surprises. Having seen a lot of cheep and predictable horror in other games, Dark Space outclasses them all with smart and well done suspense. The way enemies need to be taken down adds an additional twist, just blind shooting does not help, the opposite, it makes the battle situation worse. However, keeping a clear head is almost impossible at times, so there really is not shortage of fun. If there's any drawback then perhaps the fact that one can play the game end to end with the weapon provided at the start, assuming proper upgrading throughout the adventure. There is a small variety of additional toys to pick up along the way but the original plasma cutter does the job so well throughout that one can easily pass the additional tools. Now, I almost missed out on this experience due to the rather poor demo that can be downloaded which frustrated right from the get go and it took long consideration and a significant price drop to eventually pick it up. After playing and finishing it its so worth the money. For the casual gamer like me, the easy mode is very smooth and death occurs mostly due to accidents, keeping the frustration level at pretty much zero and the enjoyment level at a high throughout. As a treat though you should pass away at least once by enemy hand, and definitely once throughout the final battle, second stage please. Enjoy.

It's refreshing to play a survival horror game other than Resident Evil or Silent Hill. Not that I'm getting tired of those series, but more choice is better!

The creativity behind this game is just amazing. The ability to move heavy objects, the ability to slow down fast objects or enemies and the zero-g gravity are some of the things that makes this game so original.

I can't wait for Dead Space 2!

AMAZING exploration and interaction of an intricate metallic world, press electronic panels to activate large machineries and mechanisms, shooting of monsters is an added bonus to the all the greatness, use a plasma cutter to grind off a monster's leg it will fall, grind off it's arm it dies leaving ammo or credit money to pick up, when 2 or 4 monsters are running towards you at the same time you can use the slow motion power to slow some of them down as you concentrate on 1 of them to take down one at a time which is so fun and terrifying at the same time, find access and key codes to open electronic doors, finding(and buying)of power nodes to upgrade your weapons, armor and power at the upgrade stations in which each time I found or bought a new power mode at 10,000 credits I felt so excited to run down to the nearest upgrade station to increase the power of my weapons or other upgrades, finding of items, credit money and ammo kept in lit storage boxes and this game keeps on getting better because you can buy weapons, ammo and other items at the store consoles you come across. This videogame is really TOPS.

When EA keeps giving birth to such beautiful yet stillborn babies (killed by the decision to bundle another infamous SecuROM 7+/LIMITED ACTIVATIONS scheme), one can only ask: WHAT HAVE ITS EXECUTIVES BEEN SMOKING?!

MASS EFFECT can be found in clearance bins only months after its release; SPORE undersold miserably; EA's stock was hit hard because of these failures (way BEFORE the market dive) - and yet, no one seems to be awake at the helm.
By insisting on slipping in such problematic and hated DRM scheme in DEAD SPACE (and RED ALERT 3 in a week), EA proves in how little respect it holds its own customers. Of course, calling "pirates and petulant children" the 3,100 Amazon reviewers that rated with 1-star the, similarly plagued, SPORE should have been an early hint.

SecuROM 7+ has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH FIGHTING PIRACY. Proof: both MASS EFFECT and SPORE (as with BIOSHOCK last year) were pirated hours within (if not...before) their release - and if I can find this by simply Googling it, so can anyone.... I would bet dollars to donuts that EA is well aware of this - yet keeps bundling SecuROM 7+ although it severely hurts its sales! Ever wonder why?

SecuROM has always been more about data-mining and reporting back to its occasional mothership than...fighting piracy. That is why even FREE demos contain SecuROM. And that is why completely uninstalling a game plagued with SecuROM will NOT remove SecuROM - which will keep playing havoc with your system.

Lately, these security concerns have been accentuated as known Trojans seem to be exploiting SecuROM's backdoor access for their own purposes.
