4.0 out of 5 stars I got Burnt out playing this a few days straight Sept. 20 2007
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
With Burnout Paradise slated for early 2008, Burnout Revenge is a great game to play in the interim, with a massive amount of unlockables and achievements, makes the game worth the buy just for the all that you can get. The game itself is an improvement on the orginal obviously, the gameplay hasn't changed, but how can it? If it did then it wouldn't be a Burnout game. The street races are great, the surrounding environment that can be seen as you zoom by have great detail, and now with the game being so inexpensive, makes it very worth the price, you'll be playing for hours at a time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Replay Great Design Jan. 8 2011
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
This game is great. A total classic. Speed speed speed. Crash crash crash.

I love the organization of this game - the classes of events. Also the variety of events - Crash, Road Rage, Eliminator, Burning Lap, etc.
Tons of wicked cars/racing venues to unlock.

This game looks great on a large flat panel TV.

This is a great buy.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent choice for a XBOX 360 game. Nov. 3 2007

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
With it's current low price and the hours of gameplay you will get from Burnout: Revenge for the XBOX 360, purcashing the game should be a no-brainer. I've been playing just about all day now and I'm not bored yet. There are several different types of races including crashes and takedown challenges and car destruction has never been this fun.

The game can sometimes be a little frustrating but for the most part you'll have a lot of fun with Burnout.

Since it's now a Platinum Hits release and has a relatively low price tag, it's great until Burnout Paradise is released in January 2008.

4.0 out of 5 stars "Don`t Try This At Home!" Oct. 7 2007
By Tommy Skylar TOP 100 REVIEWER
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
Burnout Revenge for XBOX 360 is nothing much more than a prettier remake version of the same game for PS2 and XBOX,yet its still a really entertaining car destruction game. This the fifth installement in the Burnout series and its just as good as the other titles in the serie,it ain`t the best but its pretty good, especially if you have an XBOX 360 you will be able to experience better graphics.Other than that Revenge is a pretty good game that will last for a good time.

As you probably know by now Burnout ain`t unlike any other racer, you have to make takedowns wich means taking down the other cars around you by doing that you will get nitro or boost that will make you go faster. That is the essense of Burnout but its a fast high impact destruction and crashing game that everyone should love instantly. If you don`t like racing games, its just fine as i ain`t a fan of racers myself, this is all about killing every one and getting a good laugh about it.

Burnout is really a multiplayer game as its just way more fun playing with friends in all the types of races the game has to offer wich is a lot! There are races, crashes objectives, road rage, world crash tour and just so much,i don`t remember all but i can assure you there lots of different you can do,a great variety of races types.

The XBOX achievements are incredibly tought to get in this game! Most of them are to be done online and are things like win 50 races in a row, really hard things.I think the publisher made them a little too hard to achieve! The ones in the game will take some effort too as none of those achievements comes easy.

Also there are a lot of unlockables as there is more than 79 unlockable cars,a bunch of trophies, levels, maps and the achievements are also really tought to get.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Car-Smashing Fun! March 18 2006
By Lisa Shea - Published on Amazon.com
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Most racing games have you trying to dodge crashes and hitting your opponents. In Burnout Revenge, your entire goal is to create as much mayhem as possible.

We have every racing game for the XBox 360 and really love this genre. I have to admit that the first few times playing Burnout Revenge that I found it VERY hard to "hit" the cars. I would naturally dodge them. Even when I said to myself "hit them! hit them!" my fingers would zoom around them. I finally broke that habit and was able to mash them with great glee.

The graphics are really quite amazing. The car model is great of course - they have really gotten that down on the XBox 360. But more than that - your car deforms in a TON of ways. The paint scrapes off. The sides dent in. It all has to do with how you damage yourself. Cars get sheared in half, tires fly off, you name it.

There are a number of game types. There are races where you bash as you go. There are crash situations where you launch yourself into traffic and see how much destruction you can make. Other cars on the highway are fair game; bash them and watch them fly. Boost yourself to faster speeds. You develop relationships with other drivers - there will be certain cars that are out for revenge. There are grand prix matches of multi races.

Each course has its own distinct feel. These aren't closed tracks - you are driving through the streets of LA, Miami, Tokyo and other areas. You get palm trees and shiny office buildings, all depending on the area you're in. There are helicopters flying overhead and a ton of car models.

The music is reaosnably good, a collection of fast-paced modern music. I would have loved it if you could choose from different music styles as well, but you can't have everything.

There's a ton of replay value here - you go back to get the top ranking in every course, aiming for those perfect scores. Since you unlock some really cool cars as you go, it can really help out to take one of the later, super cars back to the early tracks.

The LIVE feature is really neat, too. Not only can you bash other players online, but you can even record your favorite crashes and load them up. It might be voted one of the top 20 best!

If I had any complaints about this game, it would be the "look back" the game does every time you slay an enemy. Since your car is still moving very quickly, it's sometimes really tough, if you're about to hit a wall or something, to have that look away and look back happen. Also, I don't like the camera angle in general. It is very low and right against the car. I like an angle that is higher up and further back. I realize some players like both of these features as is, so I wish they would have options for a player to change these 2 items.

Still, those are minor complaints in a game that is a ton of fun. Highly recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun, fun, fun 'til Daddy takes the TNT-bird away! March 14 2006
By DarkDan - Published on Amazon.com
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
While I am not a racing purist, I enjoy the playing most racing games on the Xbox and PS2 and, as of just over a week after this product launched, I am 87% of the way through this game (I've completed the game, but have yet to "perfect" every race).

This game features a beautiful new remake of the graphics engine specifically for the Xbox 360 and 10 more crash junctions than Burnout Revenge for the original Xbox console, but a graphics handful of additional single-player levels is not the reason to buy this game. EA has added some serious "Next Gen" features to this version of Burnout Revenge, including "Live Revenge" and "Save and Share." The former keeps track of all of the players that take you out online. When you meet up with one of these rivals again, they'll be highlighted just before you begin a race with them. Likewise, if you've taken out someone who is in the current race, you'll see that they're "gunning for you." This significantly ups the ante for playing online and creates an incredible adrenaline rush as you must either dodge an attempt for payback or seek out your arch enemies for revenge. Likewise, the Save and Share feature allows you to record up to 30 seconds of your single-player races and forward them to the people on your Xbox Live friends list. These friends can download and watch the clips while they have the Burnout Revenge disc in their 360.

But when it comes right down to it, Burnout Revenge is all about destruction. EA has improved all of the facets of what makes the "Burnout" series so exciting, and pumped it into a great title for the Xbox 360. This isn't just a "better" version of Burnout Revenge for the original Xbox, this is a title designed for the best gaming platform currently available. If you already own the original Xbox title, you might buy this version if you really enjoy playing online (because of the new "Live Revenge" feature), or want to send clips of your biggest and baddest crashes to other 360 users.

The average racer will spend about 25 hours just completing all of the races. But to earn all of the achievements, you'll be playing much longer. You must earn a 5-star rating on each and every race to obtain 100% completion, and a number of achievements require that you perfect each category of race. Also, there are almost a dozen achievements (245 of the 1000 gamerscore) that can only be earned online.

Finally, there are 79 cars to unlock, which can be earned by obtaining a medal in certain races, performing "signature" takedowns in different parts of each map, and completing the challenge sheet of each level.

In short, this game will keep you busy! The variety of racing, crashes and traffic attack modes provide much more entertainment value than a normal racing title and the incredible work put into the 360-exclusive features make Burnout Revenge an excellent game to add to your "Next Gen" collection.

4.0 out of 5 stars one of my favorites... April 10 2009
By James Porter - Published on Amazon.com
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
If you want to let off some steam with some OFFENSIVE driving, this is a great game. But I'm posting this mostly to warn you that it looks like this title no longer supports online play. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but for the last several months I've been getting nothing but the "could not connect to EA servers, try again later" message.

Single-player is *still* a lot of fun, and I still like this game more than Burnout Paradise. Maybe I'm old-fashioned, but I *like* the ability to "check" traffic without crashing in a race. In Burnout Paradise, you can "check" another racer, but if you brush up against any other traffic, you crash. Feh.

Also, "crash" mode is beeg silly fun. You get a preview of an optimal route to leave the biggest traffic pileup in your wake, and then you get a chance to try to make it happen. And if you're at least moderately successful, you will be rewarded with the ability to trigger an explosion of your car and use "aftertouch" to steer your airborn wreckage into the path of even more oncoming traffic, all while being cheered on by an unseen crowd: "We want more! We want more!"

Okay, so it's not the most *realistic* racing simulation game. But I don't want a realistic racing simulation. I don't want to crash and then be in the hospital for 3 months. No, I want to CAUSE crashes, and then be rewarded for it.

This is a big fun game. Even if EA has killed off the multiplayer part of it. But, you know, just factor that in to your buying decision, with this game or ANY game: the availability of online multiplayer functionality is not necessarily FOREVER... or even four years.

5.0 out of 5 stars So F-ing Amazing March 22 2013
By Ocman76 - Published on Amazon.com
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I am not going to go in depth with this review, but this game is
an unimaginable amount of fun. I actually haven't played any
of the other burnout titles, but I have played many other racing
Games like PGR etc. This game dwarfs others in
in comparison. This game was the first one I played on
My Xbox 360 and I played it obsessively. The game consists of
a large variety of tracks with different events ranging from
normal races to crash and takedown events. The best part of
this game is all the destruction. There is nothing more satisfying
in a racing game than smashing your enemies off the track.
the game also rewards you for aggression, the more cars you
smash and the more risky you are the more boost you are
rewarded with. This game is very old now, its from 2006,
but even now in 2013 the grahics are still very good and the
Game play just as addicting.

One last comment, I read some of the few bad reviews for
this game and they had a common theme. People often
criticized the game for becoming too hard near the end. I
have to say I blatantly disagree with this. Sure, it got more
Difficult but not to the point that it wasn't fun. I was hooked
until the end at 100% game completion.

Oh yeah, the game has split screen co-op that is hella fun
To play with friends!
