Every vista in the beautiful universe of Brütal Legend looks like it was pulled from a Frank Frazetta painting. Packed with Cameos and Voice Talent Brütal Legend is full of cameos from gods of metal like Lemmy Kilmister, Rob Halford, Lita Ford, and many, many others. It has a MASSIVE metal soundtrack from every era of metal music: 1970’s classic metal to 1980’s hair metal to the scarier cousins of 1990’s metal. And of course, Jack Black pays the ultimate homage to metal as Eddie the Roadie, continuing the theme from the work of his band, Tenacious D and his previous films like School of Rock and High Fidelity. Multiplayer Mayhem 4v4 "skirmish" multiplayer marries action combat with a strategic unit-control mechanic. As the leader of one of the factions in the game, the player will direct his armies in a Battle of the Bands where the trophy is survival. Brütal Legend’s multiplayer is online-enabled, so you can conquer your friends online via Xbox LIVE (broadband connection required for online play). I got Brutal Legend when it first came out, and loved every minute of it. Great music, great dialogue and huge laughs with Jack Black as the lead character.Only issue I have with the game is that it's re-playability is very low, so don't spend over 16.00 on this game. Brutal Legend is one of those games that you can say to your friends, "Yes, I played it and I loved it!"

a heavy metal inspired game from Tim Schafer (Monkey Island, Grim Fandango, Psychonauts) could have been a great thing. With celeb Jack Black as the main character (Eddie Riggs) as well as Ozzy and Lemmy (among other metal stars) taking the roles of other characters, you'd have thought this would be a sure thing. In fact, it is a sure thing for the first hour or so as its an open world action game that has a ton to do......then suddenly it shifts into a very awkward RTS of all things. While the RTS elements are done decent enough, it still feels completely out of place and not what anyone who wanted the game prior to release even expected. The game is also fairly short witht he main story wrapping up in 5 hours (give or take). There is plenty to do outside of the story though but if you aren't a completionist gamer then you'll find little to come back to. The online multi-player community is dead as well so be warned if purchasing overall its a fairly solid game that just seemed to fall off the tracks

Con: The only real problem with this game is that it doesn't have a "holds your hand" tutorial on what you can do in this game. Sure, it covers the most basic of tutorials for commands, but doesn't once hint at things like using your car during combat. It can be really frustrating to be stuck on a mission then look up an FAQ and go "I had no idea I could do that!"Pro: Since the worst thing I can say about this game is "I wasn't taught some things by the game I felt I should of" that says something. Combat was fun and fluid. The story was well told, memorable, and even "moving". The world of Brutal Legend is vibrantly fleshed out and feels alive (in it's own way). If you are a fan of Metal (heavy or not), or if you are a fan of both Action & Strategy games. Give this a shot, you won't regret it (and will probably remember it forever).
