Great game, lots of fun for all ages, however, buyer beware. I ordered the Sims 2 ENGLISH version and was promptly sent a FRENCH version. Like, thanks so much. Sorry, merci beaucoup! Luckily, even though the entire manual was in French, the installation instructions recognized that our computer was set up in English and offered to do the install in English. The game also has a neat tutorial, also in English, that replaced the manual. I am glad that I bought it, I just wasn't impressed that despite ordering the English version, I was sent the French.

Best Game of the Year

I found this on a website and tells everything about it! I can't wait for this game to come out!!!
FACTS ON THE SIMS 2:
-Sims can get married and the whole family is invited
-The household limit will be eight
-Adult Sims are not required to get married in order to move in
-Sims can marry first cousins
-There will be 6 life stages - Infants, toddlers, children, teenagers, adults, and old age.
-The weather can change
-You can own two homes
-You can turn the ageing process off.
-When a woman is pregnant it will show
-You will go to the hospital when its time to give birth
-Sims will know which bedrooms is theirs
-You can marry people like the burglar, maid etc
-Elderly people can have sex
-There is a special type of kiss called the family kiss that parents can give their children
-Sim parents can choose which school their kids go to the better the school the better their education level
-There will be cheats
-Their will be weekends
-Short missions - like invite boss over if goes well promotion may come quicker.
-Partners will be choose on interests, social experiences, and looks.
-You will have to potty train children.
-You can kick the children out of the house when they are older
-There will be a community area
-Clothing will be separate like pants will be chosen and then top and shoes etc.
-Sims of the same gender will be able to marry
-The Sims 2 is 3D
-There will be over 500 objects and furniture will age in time
-A wedding, funeral or birth will be a much bigger event in the Sims 2
-Sims will show if they are fat, thin, or muscular
-Sims will be aware of what's going on around them
-Sims can be killed through lots of different ways
-Female Sims can have twins and triplets
-There will be 18 career paths for adult Sims, 7 careers paths for the elderly and 7 careers paths for teenagers
-Elderly Sims will receive a pension

Be prepared to spend more than you expect.....

This game has the potential to be pretty good. However, what Maxis failed to mention is you need a pretty darn good video card. Anyone running on Intel is screwed - that seems to be the consensus with gameplayers. You need only a minimum 32MB to be compatible with Sims 2 however most say they have problem free gameplay with a 128MB.
I was able to attempt to play however the more I added to a house or the more I made my Sims do the game became quite choppy. Additionally, loading times and save times varied from between 2-5 minutes. And I am on a new computer.
I look forward to being able to play this successfully however I believe that Maxis should be selling Video cards with this game.

One Word: AMAZING!
It's amazing. You have so much freedom and mixing genetics is so fun... If I were to describe this game in 3 words: amazing, addictive, fun!

Addicting...
I thought The Sims 2 was really fun, and addicting. The graphics are 100 % better than the Sims, and it has a wider range of social options. GOOD GAME.

WOW, this is pretty bad!
