Got book in decent delays, was a little dented, don't know if it's from the travelling or what. Anyway, it doesn't really matter since i'm carrying it around in a book bag anyway, got the whole thing like 40$ less then anybody else who bought it from the school store so i'm happy!!

I am a senior chemical process engineer, and I found this text an excellent reference and aid for keeping current on the broad

breath of information that comprises chemical process engineering.

CD = worthless Feb. 18 2010

Good book. If you want to buy it used don't worry about getting the cd with it. It is meant for windows 95 or 98. Pretty worthless. You would think that a 2005 edition of the book would be a little more updated!

Not great Nov. 9 2014
By J. Smithe - Published on
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
This is an okay book for an intro to chemical engineering textbook. There's quite a few errors in the solutions in the back of the book and the author has a weird habit of changing variables in the middle of a problem or from problem to problem which makes his examples hard to follow. The author also presents information in a very dry and plain manner, which is good in some ways, but makes the book for a very dull and ineffectual read. The problems in the book have a bad habit of requiring a program like solver or wolfram to work out because the author didn't work hard enough to make the problems work out logically for students.

Overall its a simplistic and somewhat ineffectual introduction into chemical engineering, but its not terrible.

Best way to buy this book if it is required for your Chem E class Feb. 8 2014
By Kari the Cat Mum - Published on

This package contains the workbook, the textbook, and a CD-ROM to help you with this class. Since this book is out of print, this truly is the best way to obtain it. The workbook helps you work problems step-by-step (they're actual problems from the previous version of the textbook) and the CD shows you what individual pieces of machinery are and their functions. One caveat: I can't get the CD to run on my Windows 8 machine, so I use a different unit to view it. Real chemical engineers use this text as a reference for their whole careers. Keep it; it is very all-encompassing!

Easy to understand and complete with the student work book. June 25 2014

This textbook was written in a way that it is not too difficult to understand and it additionally came with a student workbook which I perfect for practicing problems from each chapter. A CD with additional material came with the package as well. Very nice package over all.
