Elements of Life - Tiesto,
By
This review is from: Elements Of Life (Audio CD)
Unlike Tiesto's 'In Search Of Sunrise' compilations, 'Elements of Life' contains all Tiesto originals. The CD starts strongly with some tracks of note: the opening track 'Ten Seconds Before Sunrise' does seem to evoke the sun about to come up, with its sunny treble, chords and choir sounds. The standout track is definitely the one which follows, 'Everything': with its amazingly crafted beat, catchy melody and sensual female vocals, it is 7 minutes of pure listening pleasure. With a full set of lyrics, this could be a chart riser if released as a single.I found the next four tracks became gradually weaker at this point, which was disappointing. The CD's momentum returns with the uplifting 'Bright Morningstar', which, again is ethereal in its sound. This is followed with another good track: 'Break My Fall' with its strong beat and male vocals. 'In The Dark' is more of a Euro-pop song than a dance track, but I like it just the same. 'Dance4Life' sounds very Faithless-esque and has an awesome beat but the lyrics are a bit annoying. The title track is actually very good which leads me to wonder why it appears second last on the track listing. With its arpeggiated bass and driving beat it attempts to revive the ambience of the CD's opening tracks. Fortunately the CD ends strongly with the weirdly titled but uplifting 'He's a Pirate', complete with an impressive string arrangement interlude. I'd say it's worth buying, even if it's a break from his 'Sunrise' compilations.

I was impatient until the release date. This album is absolutely magik . Still Tiesto knows how to impress us and once again he proves his role as a significant leader in electronica for the 21st century! Elements of life is original compositions, if you don't listen to this , why wait ?

I was totally looking forward to this CD when I heard a new one was coming out. I was blown away, and therefore, it was a good wait...Its not like the other Search for sunrise series, all the tracks are original tiesto. Treat yourself, or buy it as a gift, this is a must have for tiesto fans hands down
