Description

The ground-breaking hit sitcome returns with a final season of heartwarming hilarity

Following Ellen's history-making coming out episode in Season 4, the fifth and final season of the hilarious, award-winning ELLEN raises the "Funniest Person in America" (Showtime) to never-before-seen heights of comedic brilliance.

Quirky, warm and hilarious, Ellen DeGeneres stars as Ellen Morgan, a single, 30-something bookstore owner bumbling through life's ups and downs with unfailing goofiness. With loyal pals Spence (Jeremy Piven), Paige (Joely Fisher), Joe (David Anthony Higgins), and Audrey (Clea Lewis) adding to the mess, Ellen manages to spoof herself in two special tribute episodes. ELLEN: THE COMPLETE SEASON 5 features all 22 episodes from its critically acclaimed fifth and final season.

4.0 out of 5 stars Episodes out of order!, July 21 2007
By Book Marks "Amie" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Ellen: The Complete Season 5 (DVD)
I really enjoy this DVD and series, but the episodes are out of order! They do not follow the order in which they were aired on television. This is obvious if you watch them in the order they are on the DVD. Check on IMDb for the correct chronological order and the season will make much more sense!

5.0 out of 5 stars It's a 'must have' finale, Mar 12 2007
By Midwest Book Review - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Ellen: The Complete Season 5 (DVD)
Ellen DeGeneres' comedy sitcom's fifth and final season is captured in this complete video set, which presents the lesbian bookstore owner and her host of funny quirky friends. All 22 episodes from the fifth season are included, making for an uninterrupted set, plus two special tribute episodes. It's a 'must have' finale for prior DeGeneres fans and a fine introduction for newcomers - who likely will want to purchase and view the other seasons available from A&E.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good season and Great finale, Dec 27 2006
By C. Pencil - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Ellen: The Complete Season 5 (DVD)
There are lots of memorable moments from this last season of Ellen, but my favorite thing on this set is the two part tribute episode that served as the series' finale. It's hilarious and very clever. It takes you back in time to the 1950's as if Ellen's sitcom had started way back then. It follows Ellen's show through the decades, recreating the look and culture through the years. It's a star filled feature, very well written. One segment has various stars like Helen Hunt auditioning to play the role of "Ellen" before DeGeneres got the role. In the 1970's there is even an Ellen Saturday morning cartoon and breakfast cereal. Genius. Stars like Woody Harrelson, Jennifer Aniston, Tim Conway, Christine Lahti, and Jada Pinkett Smith are especially funny.
