About the Author
Eloise Wilkin (1904–1987) illustrated dozens of classic Golden Books in her long career. Famous for her instantly recognizable style, she provided the art for such books as Baby Dear, We Help Mommy, and the original Little Golden Book versions of Prayers for Children and My Little Golden Book About God.

I bought this book because I wanted a copy of The Baby Doll to read to my new daughter, as it was one of my favorites growing up.The book is quite thick (it looks like a Little Golden Book but it is over 200 pages) and full of beautiful illustrations. If you were a fan of Eloise Wilkin stories or pictures as a child, you need this in your collection.

My 3 year old loves the stories in this book! They spark really good conversation about everyday things and are simple enough to keep her attention. I also love that several of the stories I remember from my childhood!

A very sweet collection of books I remember reading in the 70s. I love this beautiful book filled with images from a simpler, gentler time. I remember Eloise Wilkin stories that I used to look at as a little girl, that used to be my mother's books. So this book is very nostalgic for me. I gave it a 4 sinceit left out her book "Prayers for Children" that I just love. I bought this book when my little boy turned one...I loved the drawings and stories. Such sweet tales here, such as "Busy Timmy", "We Help Mommy" and "Baby Listens". My son will soon be two and this is one of his favorite books! Even when we're not reading it to him, he loves to hold it in his lap, flip the pages and look at the pictures. Wilkin's drawings are so wonderful -- the way the babies have the chubby cheeks and huge eyes - so true to life! This is really a must have for every child's library.
