Two CDs With This Exact Same Cover Nov. 7 2013
By George O'Leary - Published on
The photo on the cover is the same one which appeared on his second RCA Victor LP 1382 in October 1956, and also on the expanded version of this CD which was released a few years later, adding as "bonus" sides tracks 1 to 3 and 16 to 18. I have both CD versions, but I still like my 12-selection original with its vinyl LP sleeve notes intact.

In early 1960 the LP became his second to go Gold. Te following tracks from the album, also released as parts of the Extended Play (E.P.) releases, were so popular on air that they made their way into the Billboard Pop Top 100, R&B and/or Country singles charts:

Love Me - # 2 Top 100 Nov-Dec 1956; When My Blue Moon Turns To Gold Again - # 19 Top 100 Dec 1956-Jan 1957; Paralyzed - # 59 Dec 1956-Jan 1957 - all from the RCA Victor E.P.A. 992 "Elvis Vol. I":

Old Shep - # 47 Top 100 Dec 1956-Jan 1957 - from the RCA Victor E.P.A. 993 "Elvis Vol. II."

Elvis proved that he was no flash in the pan with his second RCA release from 1956. Check out Rip It Up or his ballad Old Shep, he actually plays piano on this too.....this album rocks from start to finish.

This is one of my favorite Elvis Presley LP. Beautiful songs throughout. I tried to look for the original pressing of this master piece. But, this is definitely Worth the price, you won't regret it!

This was the very first LP I ever owned and it was a thrill to get a brand new copy in beautiful vinyl. Sounds superb and I can't take my eyes off that fabulous cover.

Catching up on my early Elvis vinyl. The early stuff I think sounds the best on record. And, the new 180 gram pressings. Excellent!
