4.0 out of 5 stars Useful pocket guide, Nov 20 2008

I have used this book and it's predecessor for several years. I love the quick reference for trade and generic drug names at the back. The tabbed design makes it easy to find what you are looking for. The book easily fits in my leg pocket - where I keep it every shift. I have found the ACLS decision trees extremely useful. Also, the wide variety of issues covered in the assessment area leave me feeling prepared for whatever comes through the door of my small rural hospital. Sometimes, in a stressful situation, having the plan written in front of you can really reduce your stress level!

My only criticisms are that the lab values are in American units, and some of the drug names common in Canada are not included in this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Emergency & Critical Care Pocket Guide, Jan 15 2007
By S. Bergey "ICU nurse since 1977" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Emergency and Critical Care Pocket Guide (Reprinted) (Spiral-bound)
I purchased this for a friend who just got his nursing degree and is joining us in the ICU. This guide doesn't take up much space in your pocket, but is packed with good information and it is easy to find what you are looking for in its well-organized format.
