A virtual rarity, beyond any doubt! A huge lexical inventory, this dictionary incorporates an abundant wealth of linguistic information arranged in a clear, transparent, and coherent structure which is presented in an attractive visual format. Among a number of personal vocabulary resources, I place this dictionary on the very top of my valued library collection! I highly recommend it to any prospective buyer genuinely interested in exploring the depths and richness, as well as the unique charm and beauty of the admirable English language. A precious treasure to discover!

Not all dictionaries are the same, check out "analogy" Dec 5 2009
By Nothing But the Facts - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover
When I did a survey of dictionaries in my local bookstore I found this one to be by far the most well written and clear in its definitions. The best "test word" I ended up using across all the dictionaries was "analogy."

This dictionary's first definition reads:
1. COMPARISON a comparison between two things that are similar in some way, often used to help explain something or make it easier to understand

All the other dictionaries I read had horrible, hard to understand definitions (including the collegiate version of the same dictionary). Check out "analogy" in any other dictionary before you buy it, you might be really surprised. Buy this one!
