Product Description

From Publishers Weekly

Renaissance Productions is launching a new series of romance titles, My Romance, read by actors from popular daytime TV soap dramas. Sofer and Kurth have both played major roles on General Hospital. Kurth, with his deep resonant voice, really sounds like he means it when he introduces the story, telling listeners about "a love so intensely powerful it endures centuries, across oceans, even lifetimes." Sofer, reading the parts of the female protagonist, art historian Kacey Mallory, comes across young and innocent, at times whispery and dewy-eyed, and giving the sensation that she's genuinely getting lost inside the story. Kacey, an American, has traveled to Draycott Abbey, a remote British manor house, in search of a lost Whistler painting. There, she also discovers a handsome British viscount awaiting her. Swells of canned orchestrated music augment the two-tiered telling, providing needed breaks in the hot-and-heavy narrative. Together, it's a professional-quality package, making good its delivery of niche-audience material. (Apr.)

Product Description

When art conservator Kacey Mallory travels to the beautiful and mysterious Draycott Abbey in a remote corner of England to verify the authenticity of a newly-discovered James Whistler masterpiece, little does she suspect that something far more precious awaits her; nothing less than echoes of her past, the promise of her future, and a dashing British viscount...the man who is her destiny.

5.0 out of 5 stars AWESOME!!, Aug 23 1998

This review is for the book & audio. Since I have read all the 'Draycott Abbey' series books, I was very excited about the audio - 'Enchantment'. I did not have this story, but did locate it, read it and then listened to the audio. I started to listen to the story in my car to and from work...that lasted for only one day. I couln't wait, so that same evening I settled into my favorite 'reading'chair and listened to the tape in one evening!! The audio was 'ENTHRALLING to say the least. The narrators (Wally Kurth & Rena Sofer) were excellent..they made the characters/story come alive! The music was hauntingly beautiful, just perfect. As I listen to romance audios while driving to work, I can honestly state that this particular audio was the best I have listened to. I am looking forward to the next 'My Romance' audio with great anticipation. Also...cannot wait for the next Christina Skye novel....Christmas Knight.

5.0 out of 5 stars Enchantment, Mar 11 2000
By D. Speers - Published on Amazon.com

I always gave up listening to audiobooks because they projected no emotion. When I read a good book, the author's voice disappears and I can "see" the characters myself. They are mine. When I first listened to Enchantment, the musical background and voices of Wally and Rena captured the story immediately. The agony of the resident ghost, the excitement and fear of Kacey when she first sees Draycott Abbey is spellbinding. I didn't dare listen to this in my car. I can never put down a good book - this is the first time I haven't been able to "turn off" an audio tape. Kudos to the author for writing this terrific story, to the producer for giving me excellent quality and production, and the performers for turning the characters into living and breathing persons - even the ghost!

5.0 out of 5 stars spellbinding!!! I thoroughly enjoyed this book!, Aug 22 1998

The talents of Ms. Rena Sofer and Mr. Wally Kurth, of General Hospital add yet another enjoyable dimension to an already passionate and compelling story. I have read the other stories in Ms. Skye's wonderful series on the historic site known as Draycott Abbey and I feel that this rendition is a "must have" for any romantic reader's collection.

For anyone who has not had the chance to read any of Ms. Skye's books, the story of Nicholas, Kacey and of course, the ghost of Draycott Abbey, Adrain will surely make you curious to read more about them.
