I don't know if it's me or what it is, but the Encyclopedia Brown books are not what they used to be. Each chapter (mystery) seems shorter and not as detailed. This book itself is thinner, too, although there are 10 mysteries.There isn't a great variety of mysteries here. Whereas other Encyclopedia Brown books seemed to have a variety of characters and themes, this book is mostly either the Tigers--the bully group--or a kid selling something falsely for profit. Some of the twists/clues are the same as in other Encyclopedia Brown books.
So, in other words, it's a book. A new Encyclopedia Brown book. Nothing exciting, but for kids who love to read them, they'll be happy!

We love to read Encyclopedia Brown short mystery's at bedtime with our 9 yr old son, and try to solve the cases before we look at the solutions. It's great fun with your kids, and you'll find them looking forward to bedtime, to read a new Encyclopedia Brown mystery!
