This review is from: The End of Democracy (Paperback)
I would like to congragulate the Author for his exceptionally courageous work on giving the entire world a different perspective. He has clearly depicted that how the western imperialism is trying to enlsave the Muslim majority population countries under the disguise of Democracy. This is a must read book for all the people who have any doubts that Islam is a Complete System of Life.

This review is from: The End of Democracy (Paperback)
This book, by Abid Ullah Jan is a brilliant and bold challenge to "The end of history", by Francis Fukuyama. The ideas put forword in "The end of democray" are creative and thoughtful having been based on facts and realities. The book is a classic in the studies of political philosophy of the new sphere of globalization.

5.0 out of 5 stars the end of democracy, Dec 27 2003
This review is from: The End of Democracy (Paperback)
The author's challenging the most dominent theory and practice of governance on intellectual grounds is no less than someone's challenging the US military might all alone. It is interesting to find that a person is challenging an ideology and a form of governance for which the lone super power of the age is going to all extremes. It is not easy to challenge the idea of democracy at a time when it can justify 12 years of genocidal sanctions, invasion of two countries, butchery of tens of civilians and continued occupation.

Interesting still is the fact that the author has logically proved that there is an alternative and confirmed with examples and solid facts that proponents of democracy are doing no more than flogging a dead horse when a far better alternative is available. Te only problem is that they do not want to see it for their vested interests.

The author not only explains the philosophical soundness of the alternative governing system but also presents a blueprint of how it can function. The never ending wars and occupations are a clear sign that the forces behind this chaos have realised that the alternative has becme inevitable. The wars and occupations are signs of their desperation and last minute attempts to delay their demise with democracy that has long been dead. The future belongs to Islam and the book shows how and what makes this challege of Islam as credible as it could be.
