Lori can’t wait for her summer at the lake. She loves wakeboarding and hanging with her friends—including the two hotties next door. With the Vader brothers, she's always been just one of the guys. Now that she’s turning sixteen, she wants to be seen as one of the girls, especially in the eyes of Sean, the older brother. But that’s not going to happen—not if the younger brother, Adam, can help it.
Lori plans to make Sean jealous by spending time with Adam. Adam has plans of his own for Lori. As the air heats up, so does this love triangle. Will Lori’s romantic summer melt into one hot mess?

This review is from: Endless Summer: The Boys Next Door; Endless Summer (Paperback)
This bind-up edition contains THE BOYS NEXT DOOR and its long-awaited sequel, ENDLESS SUMMER.In THE BOYS NEXT DOOR, Lori will do anything to get Sean, one of the three brothers next door, to notice her. Lori's plan? To date Sean's twin brother, Adam, and get him JEALOUS! Wakeboarding moves, mixed emotions, and a few bryozoa later, Lori discovers that she might be pining for the wrong person! (SPOILER ALERT! For those who have yet to read THE BOYS NEXT DOOR, do not read the following...) ENDLESS SUMMER continues where we last left Lori and Adam. Lori has finally figured out that Adam is the right one for her ever since she was a little kid, literally, and that he always had a crush on her. Happily together, their dating was bound to hit a rough patch, and that patch just happened to be Lori's dad. Although you can't blame him, as Lori and Adam accidentally fell asleep in Adam's truck. This incident not only caused Lori to miss her curfew but also gave her dad the chance to embed it in his mind that something else might have happened between the couple. Unfortunately, countless of pleas and explanations only lead to Lori's dad forbidding her to see Adam. However, staying away from each other is not as easy as it sounds, especially since they work together. If Adam doesn't stay away from Lori though, it's off to military school. With the right opportunity, Lori is given another chance to strike up a horrible plan - date guys way worse than Adam - so that her dad will see that Adam just isn't so bad. From bad boys to brothers, Lori is taking all the chances she can to get Adam back as her boyfriend, even if it ends up making Adam jealous. Will Lori's plan work, or will it just tear apart their relationship? Told in alternate narrations, ENDLESS SUMMER does not disappoint. Lori and Adam will join the ranks of the greatest couples in history (including Ross & Rachel). The love they have for one another is just so palpable that readers will cheer them on in hopes that they end up together once again. Jennifer Echols does a fantastic job writing through the minds of two teens (which is the scariest place to be). Lori continues to be that strong-willed character, with ideas that aren't the greatest, and Adam the loveable boy next door, who knew one day he would get the girl of his dreams. This Book is Amazing!,

This review is from: Endless Summer: The Boys Next Door; Endless Summer (Paperback)
Taken from my blog:Endless Summer, the recent release from Jennifer Echols, is a perfect summer treat. Packaged in this collection is a re-release of The Boys Next Door. Endless Summer is a continuation of that book, so it's a pleasure that they are together--with a beautiful cover! I'm not going to give away too much about the plot of the book--because it is just SO GREAT. I can't really put it into words how much I adored Lori and Adam as a couple. Lori is the kind of girl who is laid back and has always been one of the boys. She's spent so many summers with Adam and his older brother, Sean--she's never really thought of Adam as a boy to date. He was just Adam. So when they collide into love, it's spectacular. The couple has a kind of chemistry everyone searches for and the kind of passion that propels you to keep turning the pages to see where they end up. You root for their relationship when it struggles, and you sigh at the parts that make your heart flutter! If you're looking for a book to throw into your tote to take to the beach--this is perfect! It has the summer heat, the summer boys, and the summer love. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful

Satisfied my romantic comedy sweet tooth,
By Confessions of a Book Addict - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Endless Summer: The Boys Next Door; Endless Summer (Paperback)
Things pick up exactly where The Boys Next Door ends and as usual, Lori finds herself in a crazy situation once again. She gets in trouble for spending all night out with Adam, but really, she didn't do anything wrong as she just fell asleep. Of course, no one believes her! However, her dad is really upset and has forbidden Lori from seeing Adam all summer, which as far as she is concerned is the worst possible punishment. Even Adam's family is upset and thinking of sending him to military school as they are tired of dealing with him. But Lori has something up her sleeve and hopes to remedy the situation. Of course it involves Sean, Adam's brother, and a few hilarious situations. While I didn't enjoy Endless Summer as much as The Boys Next Door, it still satisfied my romantic comedy sweet tooth. In Endless Summer, Echols writes with alternating points of view switching from Lori to Adam. I actually really liked this, not only because I enjoyed Adam, but I also got a different perspective of the situation from a more reliable narrator as Lori can be too impulsive. Plus (lets be honest!), I needed a break from Lori who was really pushing my buttons. Lori is just as much fun in this book as the first, but her crazy schemes and planning are too over the top and unrealistic. To be frank, she irritated me. I knew half of her plans would backfire as they all lacked common sense. Thankfully, Adam is more level-headed and tried to keep Lori more grounded. He's one of the best parts of the book. Although Lori annoyed me, I still thought that her relationship with Adam was cute. I'd love to see where it's going to go in the fall during football season and school. Maybe Echols will write another book? Since the novel was partly from Adam's point of view, we got to understand his love/hate relationship with his brothers, which was also pretty interesting. The Vader brothers definitely are entertaining and their witty banter back and forth had me laughing out loud. I also love how Lori's relationship with the Vaders was originally based on strong friendship as they grew up together and share many memories. If you are looking for a romantic comedy, be sure to check out The Boys Next Door and Endless Summer by Jennifer Echols. Echols really knows how to write feel good romantic comedies that are perfect for summertime. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful

I LOVED these books!!!! I liked the 1st one a bit better than the 2nd because it had a bigger sense of romance in it. The 2nd one was a non-stop struggle for everyone and had me beating my head against the wall from time to time (not really). There were moments I wanted to Shake Lori and tell her to chill out with trying to make out with other dudes......that would be the stupidest thing to ever actually do. And then with Adam, he proved to be the bigger drama queen at times but I still loved him. The ending was perfect, in both books but at the end of the entire set, I was completely satisfied.
