I am not a big fan of re-enactments with actors, but this aside Engineering an Empire is among the best documentaries out there. Smart and informative. I bought it mainly after seeing the Egypt episode twice already somewhere on the Internet. It is brilliant. Have only watched 2 other episodes so far, also very good. Peter Weller is so cool and obviously loves working on these shows which is a pleasure for us.

This series is a masterpiece for the studying of how the ancients invented and developed technologies that helped shape the world today. The viewer will be shocked to discover who was responsible for various technologies that we thought the western world was responsible for. The computer graphics clearly add power to the visualization of the many engineering accomplishments that the ancients are repsonsiblbe for.
